I like it too but also have to look at the downside. They're losing Capela, Nance, Terrance Mann, and Niang and relying on Porzingis who's missed like 35 games per year the last 4 years or so. Maybe losing Levert too.

All is well in Atlanta now.

Levert and Niang never needed to average double-digit shot attempts. These focus can be on the starters now and role players that won't come near 10 field goal attempts per game.

A team won't ever be successful having six or seven players that average double digit shot attempts. The max number is 4.

Quality over quantity!

Yes, he spent the season in the GL on a regular GL contract - will most likely get a 2way contract this year.

Atlanta will be a top 4 team in the East and would be a play in team in the West...

I actually think the Celtics are still probably better than the Hawks for now, but if Atlanta could move Trae Young for someone who actually plays defense, they could probably get to the 4 seed.

Laughable especially when hawks offense falls off a cliff without him.
Hawks plus on/off with Trae on the court.

Wait he played? Thought he was injured the whole season. So he was in GL. Does he suck?

Thinking if they can swap Trae for Davion Mitchell, they may be able to eek by the current Celtics team without Tatum?

:)

62 mio in 4 years means ~15.5 Mio per yeear. This is just slightly above the mid level exception which is 14.1 Mio in 2025/26. Guys, when looking at contracts please keep in mind that the salary cap rises. Just because 10 years ago 15 mio was good starter money doesnt mean that this is a lot in 2025.

He came back from injury in late November. I like what I saw with his scoring ability driving the ball, running the offense, passing ability etc....but his shooting from 3 though :-? . Worked a lot with Kyle Korver to fix his shooting mechanics. Had some really good games.

I don't think it matters too much how much he's getting paid at this moment. GM's/scouts are expecting an upward trajectory with a bigger role. In 2 years, that contract is going to look a ton better. The Hawks are definitely in the conversation for offseason winners so far.

I don’t understand your pt. Niang is a helluva shooter so you’d love for him to get up 10 3s a game, and NAW, Kennard, and Porz aren’t low volume dudes either. Plus Niang and Mann were textbook role players.

Anyway the moves are good. Just saying they’re also losing guys who were solid too.
