The 36% from three he shot last season off 6.3 attempts per game is very promising

From midrange and the paint, he didn't shot as well the last two seasons as he did his first four seasons in Utah

Him shooting a decent clip from three is what will help him extend his career

He's better at getting his own shot than anyone we had off the bench last year. For the minimum I can't complain.

Yeah for the veteran minimum the signing is really a no brainer. Clarkson has always averaged double digits in his career and he has shown the capability of shooting 45/35 from the field. The hope is that he can stabilize his shooting playing with better talent here.

And we really have very little options.

He's looked pretty washed the past couple of years, but that's on some absolute garbage teams. For a vet's min deal, I can't really complain. If it works out, great, and if not...waive him or trade him.

He is a career 43.6/33.6 shooter. Not much of an upgrade over Cam at all really.

Not excited at all. We don't need inefficient scoring off the bench. We need a PG/C and someone taller than 6'5 who plays defense. He fills none of those needs. We still don't have a HC and we are out here bringing in chuck and duck bench players? This is a problem not a solution IMO. I hate to lose faith in the FO but, this summer is off to a terrible start so far.

idk why ppl are upset with this signing, Clarkson is a clear upgrade over Payne, and he also provides scoring off the bench that we have been lacking.

i know the shooting percentages aren't great but he was one of the main vets on the terrible tanking team, so the last few years he was just chucking. Now that he's in a winning situation (or so i hope)and better players around the shot diet will change.

He's on a min deal. Literally the best case scenario for us. Not sure why everyone is complaining over this. He's better than Cam and Shamet even tho I still want him back.

KFS had a good breakdown on his advanced numbers in the halfcourt..... he was in 80+ percentile for a lot of those stats ill try to pull them later

for the minimum this is about as good as you can get for what this team needed

He's NOT a clear upgrade over Cam. He does not fill anything we need off the bench. It's only a vet minimum except all we have to spend are vet minimum deals. It's not as simple as people make it sound. Slim pickings is the only rationale that makes sense but, hoping he surprises me.

Not really. He had lots of them. The more amazing thing was how he got the bad game.

I hope this doesn't mean we don't re-sign Shamet. Dude was a real nice fit for us. Shot the ball well (39.7% from distance, 38.5% career) and played some pesky defense.

THEY PASSED THE BALL!! we have enough scoring if we utilize the roster. So know passive kat may defer to this jock. NOT AN IMPROVEMENT. WE needed a true pg. Jalen already dominates the ball. Get a coach that can take control of this Kaos

It's a vet minimum deal. Go find me someone better that's available and is willing to come here at this price. smh

Are you saying that he is the only nba player willing to come to ny?? Lol

Isn't that management's job? To find the RIGHT pieces. Not just ANY piece. As a fan base we love the flashy signing from another team. A jock is not a good fit. At the end of the yr each knick was hunting fir THEIR shot bc of jb, so now another me first player??

He won 6th man of the year about 4 seasons ago and you're acting like he's some talentless bum. Like I said, show me some proof of a better player that wanted to come here for a vet minimum deal that we could afford? Put up or shut up at this point.

He's obviously a clear upgrade over Cam Payne what are you smoking this morning? in the playoffs our whole bench averaged like 15 points per game, Clarkson clears that by himself, also saw on twitter that over the past couple of seasons he has posted an assist percentage on 24%. only Brunson has a higher percentage on the team, he's bringing scoring and play making off the bench. so again a clear upgrade over what we had.

He's a bench player on a vet min deal

If he sucks, we just don't play him. I don't know why anyone is freaking out over this, of guys you can get for the vet min, he's objectively one of the better players.

43.6/33.6 career numbers vs 41.9/ 36.8. Where's the upgrade? He played more minutes than Cam so his PPG are higher. What will they be in a limited bench role? 2.9ast vs Cams 3.2ast and JC was playing more minutes. That's a drop off in playmaking.

He's not a playmaker. He's a chuck on bad teams. We have limited funds and still need a backup PG/Wing/C. Now we have less to spend. Hoping one of the kids can pass him up because if they can't, we are not improving with this move.
