Finally, Prince's deal is for the veteran minimum, but because it is for multiple seasons, it doesn't count for the cap-friendly $2.3 million like one-year vet minimum deals do. Instead, Prince is on the books at $3,303,770 for 2025-26 as a nine-year veteran, and for next year at an estimated $3.89 million if he picks up his player option.

Very weird the need to give PO to Prince in that case.
That was an agent appeasement.

Maybe he'll opt out after the season and see if he can be Euroleague MVP.

So apparently this is Frank Maddens' spreadsheet about the Bucks payroll.
Did not know if it was widely known but here it is.

Hopefully we wake up to our own version of the Cam Johnson trade

Kuz/31 2nd for Wiggins
Pat/$7M cash for Nets 2032 top 55 protected second

Send the 31- 1st to the Nets, let them send draft compensation to the Heat, and some back to us.

The reason the Heat want to move Wiggins is because of the 2nd year of his deal, so Kuzma needs to go to a different team.

I am of the belief it's going to be MPJ. I'd rather have Wiggins as well but the Heat have no incentive to deal him to us. Despite the back surgeries MPJ has continued to perform well, has been available (60+ games the last three years, 70+ games the last two years), is only 27, his salary can be matched with Kuz/Pat/filler, and his contract also expires alongside Dame.

You have to be under by the end of the season to not incur penalties. It's proportional to how far you are over the tax. So they can go a bit over, if it's required for big roster moves. That's opportunity cost. Real tax penalties start around the 1st apron, which they're hard-capped to anyway.

I know they are basically one year deals but it's nice to have KPJ and Trent Jr. back to hold the fort down for a year. Not a fan of retaining Taurean Prince but no big deal at the minimum.

Sounds like Ayton is in LA, so hopefully we dodged that bullet. Him and KPJ should never be teammates. Keep our culture strong around KPJ.

Grimes wants big money, but I don't think Philly will pay it, and no one else can.

Offer full MLE for 2 years, with a player option. That way he can prove himself and get back on the market, with injury protection. We'd need to compensate Philly, but a couple of 2nds should do it.

I'm on-board signing Ayton, but could you imagine Doc playing Kuz, Ayton and Giannis together for 30 min a night? we would be by far the leagues worst three point shooting team.

Malcolm brogdon anyone?

Also, does kyle Lowry have anything left in the tank?

If Ayton is off the board split the MLE between Boucher and Brogdon wouldn’t be bad imo

Using this spreadsheet we don’t have enough room under the 1st apron for the full MLE and Rollins and Sims. This would explain why we’re trying to dump Pat’s contract for a smaller amount this but longer in duration.

I wouldnt be surprised if we weren't in on ayton at all.

He doesn't really fit with Giannis since he cant hit a three

Just go get Horford, make a big trade for a second or third fiddle, and lets go win the east

1) Kuz and the 2031 1st for Nic Claxton
2) MLE on Quinten Grimes
3) Resign Rollins and Sims

KPJ / Rollins / Dame
GTJ / Green
Grimes / Prince / Pat
Giannis / Bobby
Claxton / Sims
