We've finished < .500 only 4 times in those same 21 years.

In that span of times they've made the playoffs the same number of times as we've won the NBA championship.

We sucked last season and Charlotte only won half as many games as we did.

I wouldn't bet anything I didn't want to lose.

Betting against Mia in the short term is pretty safe imo

That may be so, but betting on Charlotte is never safe.

The stain of their past imo shouldn't deter an analysis of their current roster.

Not saying they are Indy but they have a roster posed to play similar to how Indy does.

They are currently capable of running Mia out of the building.

Based on what? Their stunning lack of durability? LaMelo leaning into being a losing player? When Grant Williams is the adult in that locker room backing the Hornets is certainly a choice.

Let’s make this interesting. Both of you put your life savings in escrow, winner takes all.

Aren’t Pimplinka and Riles tight? Surely a deal can be done here.

My workload has gotten in the way and I haven’t been able to stop by his nursing home as much as I used to. I might need to swing by on Mega Bingo Tuesday to seal the deal.

Xoxo.

Never mind, top 5 bad. They went through a horrendous breakup that destroyed the season, and they still made the playoffs. Now they are going to be top 5 bad? I don't see it. It's more likely they will be better. Just not competing for a title.

And that's the worst thing to be - not good enough to contend, not bad enough to add high lottery talent to change our faith.

I swear if I see Wiggins/Rozier/Anderson getting minutes so can fight to get the #9 seed...

Go full young, make moves for the future, maximize the draft. Don't make this season even worse then what it needs to be by watching old journeymen suck.

I'm not asking for much. Well I am, but I'm not getting that. So can we at the very least go one season just getting our cap in order and not trading away any 1st round picks for mid players? Can we at least get our crap together so we're in the game when a real star becomes available?

Is that asking too much?

Kind of seems like that's where things are trending right now. Which, I agree, makes the most sense.

You'll never have assets to compete for a big move if you always load up your roster with longer-term deals expiring at different times and keep moving draft capital for band-aid fixes.

It’s feeling like this summer but he needs to do it soon so wherever he goes has time to fill out the roster

Always get irrational mania while drinking my cafecito in the morning. And right now I’m looking at this roster. And if we all lock in, I think we can win the title this year.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

I guess, but odds are Lamelo is gonna get hurt. And they ain't gonna be able to defend a traffic cone or apply much rim pressure on offense.

You can hate him but he's **** right.

Miami is going for a "soft" tank. Basically everyone expires by 2027 except Bam. Even if Miami doesn't make any significant moves this summer and "runs it back", there is a chance Miami misses the playoffs anyway and ends up with a lottery pick.

I wouldn't be surprised. My guess is that they need or want a bigger contract to match salaries at the deadline.

He turned down 5/150 in the offseason, so technically it's a discount?

This off season, the league is telling us that 1 way scorers aren't worth anything. Look at the contracts given out to guys like dlo, Trent, etc.. Now look at the bulk of trades, it's teams paying to get off these contracts like mpj, green, poole, cj, simons, etc... Even if everyone had unlimited cap space, I don't think many would waste time on Kuminga. Maybe bad teams hoping to get lucky with the privilege of paying for it. ie kings and the bulls.

This is such a crazy concept. If a team wants a large salary to trade, sign a random veteran to a massively inflated 1 year contract. The name of the player shouldn't even matter since he'd just be salary filler on an expiring contract. You do NOT sign a guy to a 5 year deal for the sake of matching salaries in a future trade.

It's how the gsw got dlo which in turn got wiggins which in turn got a ring in 2022.

They are stuck. They badly need a switchable wing, but won't trade steph, Jimmy, nor dray. And everyone else makes very little. If they give jk a 5/150 deal, there are alot more options to get the wing they need or even a C upgrade. Someone will fall in love with kumingas athleticism and age. I mean we see it on heat, bulls, and kings forums now.

Tyler is from Wisconsin. If we ever somehow got Giannis he would definitely be in tbe deal. Helps them be relevant and marketing and sell jerseys and he'd be a poor man's Dame type lifer there. But him being from there can also explain the jersey.

Heat have been too quiet to not think we are trying to get giannis this whole time and explains our offer for durant. Probably knew he wanted rockets all along and didnt want to shut door on giannis possibility. Bucks are literally worse roster wise this year than last. The same minus brook Lopez. Not good.

With Windy's comments on teams passing on KD for something bigger, Shams hinting at a big trade, the buzz about Giannis and LeBron, and the Heat no longer in talks for other potential players they were linked to, the signs are that Miami is taking a swing at someone. That doesn't mean they are. It's just the vibes I'm getting.

They’re definitely swinging for 1 of the 2 unless someone else random comes available that would make more sense than LeBron
