Unless he is a degenerate gambler and owed money to the wrong people. Doesn’t matter how rich you are there are many ways to spend it on high limit gambling

Hard to believe he owed so much money that a 100 mill contract couldnt pay off, and that betting on one game would..doesnt make sense at all.

In these instances, the more money people have, the more money they want. Its the same as power.

I dont have money and I am good, Im just glad I can afford games on STEAM sometimes. But if I had 1 billion dollars, I would think, well fxxx, I need to get more cash, I could buy Amsterdam Ajax or something, now I am just a chump...

It's crazy that guys like Jimmy Butler and Vince Carter could get investigated for this crap, when they're merely tanking their performance for completely different reasons. Really pisses me off.

This is one of those good samaritan bumps.

Its nice to share the positive news too, and not negative. If we don't get update or search for the news, is easy to still think of him as someone who has a stain on his name in terms of being involved with illegal gambling.

The fact it's so mainstream really makes you question the quality of sports.

Is this a U.S thing because in Europe gambling is quite acceptable, in my country we have 14/15 year olds going to bet for football/soccer games.

what is the mindset in europe?
in the usa, money rules and there is no allegiance other than to the dollar

Yea, that's always kinda sucky, as soon as there's an investigation, many people assume and then rationalize why the person is guilty and that the investigation will find them guilty.

If you're not guilty, most people don't check back to see.

Only took 5 months to clear his name. How will this impact Beasley? Which team will be willing to sign him, given he could be banned from the league when the season starts?

How bored do you have to be to do this as an athlete.. I mean I guess if u making 20 mils a year.. but then u could get a few couple mils let’s say in a day off a bet.. but they prolly doing it for less lol prolly few hundred thousands jus to go pop some bottles and talk about it lol me I would rather take the glory and take my chances as I succeed that more opportunities gon pop up but I guess it depends how marketable you are as a person or how business savvy u can get

Does the possibility that having something like this hanging over his head not contribute to his poor play? I mean he's been exonerated, but his reputation is now tarnished. He should be able to sue the Feds for **** up because this essentially ruined his career.

Even if the players aren't using inside info for betting purposes, there are always people around them who could easily do so. Staff on the team, their friends and family... "damn bro my hamstring is still sore, it'll be at least two weeks before they let me play more than fifteen minutes" boom, there you go, insider info that you should probably bet the under on this guy's props.
