Re: 2025 Offseason Free Agency Thread
Would be great if we can dump Drummond now for free. Any team with a BAE or $5m left in their MLE could accept him. Unfortunately, I think it will require a 2nd rounder.

Player Salary
Embiid $55,224,526
PG $51,666,090
Maxey $37,958,760
VJ $11,100,000
Oubre $8,382,150
Drummond $5,000,000
McCain $4,221,360
Watford $2,461,463
Council $2,221,677
Edwards $2,048,494
Bona $1,955,377
Broome $2,000,000
Current Salary $184,239,897
First Apron $195,945,000
Remaining Roster Spots 3
Remaining in First Apron $11,705,103
You're pretty close to Cap Sheets which has us at $182.2m for 11 players, not including Broome. I assume he's closer to $1.2m than $2m so that would put us at $183.5m including Broome for 12 players.
Another vet min (Lowry?) will be around $2.3m putting us around $186m for 13 players.
Grimes will be the 14th and last player. If he is $16m in year 1 we're then at $202m for 14 players. That is $14m over the tax line of $188m, $6m over the 1st Apron of $196m, and $6m below the 2nd Apron of $208m.
For Broome, I inflated Bona's first year (Assuming salary increases and him being a slightly earlier pick). Could be closer to $1.5MM, but used $2MM to be conservative.
I hope they just hire Lowry has a coach, he's 39 and has nothing in the tank. Let's just say that 13th roster spot is another "Vet Min".
In theory, we could sign Grimes into the 2nd Apron - we'd just need to shed Oubre or Drummond by the deadline to get back into the first Apron.
I still feel like we need one more big assuming Yabu signs elsewhere. Boucher and Achiuwa are probably our best options to provide rebounding help.

If it helps us bring back both Grimes and Yabu, 100% worth trading the 2nd rounder.

Exactly my thoughts. The fact that we are trying to move Drummond now sounds like we intend to use the TPMLE and after paying Grimes, we want to get lower beneath the 2nd apron.

Re: 2025 Offseason Free Agency Thread
What teams still have money to outbid us for Yabu or what teams could offer to start him?
Would Detroit pay NTMLE for him to backup Tobias? I think they are interested in Duncan Robinson. They also don’t have a backup PG I believe.
Rumors of Denver but they don’t have a backup PG nor a backup C.
At this point I think we can offer equal money to all other teams. It’s a matter of whether Yabu himself wants to return or leave.

I have no interest in Yabu other than to unload at the deadline to potentially get back into next year's draft or a future pick or two.

We drafting bench role roleplayers in the lottery signing yabu for hope of future capital is a bad idea

Yabu and McCain cooked together. He should be brought back for that relationship alone.

Yabu on a 2-3 Year deal at $6-$8MM per is a steal

12M is essentially a two-year tax payer MLE, right? We couldn't give him that??
