This weekend was amazing. Climbing in the Columbia Gorge yesterday, kayaking in the Willamette with my youngest daughter today. Glorious.

That sounds like a beautiful weekend - weather was perfect. You get crazy with kayaking or keep it fairly mellow?

Im heading to the bridge of the gods on Tuesday to start a trek up to Snoqualmie Pass. Really hoping the snow pack isnt treacherous. Knifes edge around old snowy has me a lil worried but I should be able to navigate it. Im just leaving early season.

Nice! That's a haul. Sounds like an amazing route too if you'll be moving through the Goat Rocks. Looks like there's a fair amount of snow at 7000'+ on Hood from what I could see today. Is that all on the PCT?

Just a perfect weekend. I'm totally a flat water kayaker. Especially with the wee ones. My main goals with kayaking are to get to nice, quiet places to swim or hang out. We might do some mild river stuff at some point but I have no desire to get into whitewater. I'm also looking to get out in Hood Canal and around the Sound this year.

Thats some dope adventuring. Open water terrifies me, tbh. But I've had a strong desire to get on the sound to get to some of those remote isolated islands. Its cool youre into that stuff.

And yeah im planning on doing the H and I section. Ive done the others so this will piece em together. I dont really have the time or freedom to do the whole things or hell even just the Washington sections so I just pick chunks to do.

I was checking out your section. That looks unbelievable. Great to get time to do the pieces. Keep your eyes open for king boletes. They should be up around 4500+ feet.

I think Hood Canal is pretty mellow. I'll find out next month and report back :D

Knowing myself has gotten me this far in life and I do not trust myself to properly identify shrooms out in the wild. Ill keep an eye out for em and snap some pics if I see some.

Look forward to hearing about your adventure. Hope you have a blast.

Don't let Sham bully you. Like ice cream or a cool drink, summer is the best time for snow. It's the winter when snow sucks. And other than the rare occasion when guys like Ayton can't get out of their house, we get a lot less of it then :naaa:

I first experienced an ice storm when I took my first gf on a date in high school. The house where the party was being held was on the top of a very little hille (this was Long Island, which is incredibly flat). Cars that tried to move were just sliding down the hill until they all formed a pileup of about 10 cars and no cars could possibly get past them. I though it was much better to just stay a whole lot later at the party, and my date was kind enough to agree. Let's just say it was more fun than trying to drive through the ice storm. It was very smart of me to do this, because it was my dad's car, and he even agreed it was best to stay there until his car was safe. He even called her parents to run interference for me. What a dad!

Idk, im not stoked about having to traverse snow fields in summer. But yeah, if I had to choose 1 im going summer. But snow bridges kinda get me shook. I dont want to fall into that sht. And I have limited time and snow is going to slow me down and make me work a lot harder.

Speaking of working hard. Ayton is a lazy bum.

Oh hi meLo.

I'm against any snow or ice feature that I could fall into. Very rude.

Between Trump and Diddy, it seems like being a woman is not a very safe thing these days. I worry about our wives, sisters, mothers, and friends.
