Could have gotten even more AAV and a 5th year guaranteed by waiting till next offseason but assuming he has a player option, this sets himself up for another massive extension when he's still 31/32.

Probably win/win for both sides because this will make it a bit easier for OKC to navigate on a lower yearly salary that he could have taken.

Grange himself was saying they should probably trade Siakam

Raptor media had a freak out because they didn’t take Hunter, AJ, and a couple of seconds.

That is bonkers - I wonder if more teams will do what Dallas did and entertain trades for their supermax player rather than pay that type of money - has to be very tempting.

Whichever team signs Ayton will be the loser - he's a minimum effort guy.

I know with winning the championship, they won’t but if Chet or J dub want supermax language in their extensions , they should look to trade them. It will become none viable if they qualify. If they can just get both on normal maxes they might be able to deal with it.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Yeah no chance of that, any player that gets the max gets the supermax possibility written in there.

Nice of the Blazers to get that out there after he gave up 10 million to enter free agency.

JWilliams is also max extension eligible this offseason. That team gets very expensive very soon. I think they likely have to choose between Chet/Jwill at some point.

I think they have to avoid supermax language in their deals and perhaps put injury language in Chet’s deal. Maybe Chet they get a very slight discount on Chet from the max.

That doesn't stun me. Last year Turner spoke pretty candidly about how frustrating it was to be in annual trade rumors and he said it was the first year he was actually happy in Indiana. He pretty much admitted that he had hated most of him time there up until that point.
