Yep. Which is why the CBA is horse$hit. Celtics draft back to back all-NBA players and are getting penalized for it when both are in their primes. How does that make sense?

CJ McCollum in his feels for getting $lutted out by Golden State his whole career and makes this bull CBA.

They are the first to have to deal with it but they won't be the last to have to deal with it.

I would love for White to take Simons into the lab and show him the art of shot blocking for a guard. Simons after all is a former slam dunk champ so he could get up to block shots. Plus he was a willing student who learned from Dame and CJ. Now let's round out his game with White teaching him about the defensive end.

Pacers now out of contention with both Turner and Hali out.

I know there are those who don't believe JT is coming back, but if the Cs are in a good spot by trade deadline, JT will return.

Damn. Rough week or so for Indy. From the highest of their highs to what must feel like rock bottom.

Gotta be grateful we managed to win one in 2024 before having to tear it up.

Yeah he has hops and + wingspan, no reason he can’t learn to be a tenacious defender.
He has played alongside guys that don’t prioritize D his whole career…so maybe there is some hope.

Yes, but this "hard time" also comes from extending Jrue Holiday at an overpay.
You look at other non-MVP players in his age group and none were extending past age 35 at more than $30 million per.
Take out Kawhi, Harden, Curry & Durant and you have Kevin Love, Mike Conley, Russ Westbrook, Klay Thompson, Al Horford etc and these guys are extending at $5-$15 million.

If we had extended Jrue at $20, $17, $15 (would he even get that much if he was FA this summer?) it would have been significantly easier to move his contract, balance the budget and at least see what a JB/JT team looks like. Ultimately, you may be right, that two supermax guys making $110 per year leaves no budget for rest of the roster.

But extending Jrue at that price makes it harder because we had to take back a $28 million player (Simons) that we don't have budget for.

But maybe it won't be workable either way. Or maybe PP just keeps getting better, Pritchard becomes FVV and then you have 3 all star players making $120 combined and we are fine financially.

Exactly!

Like I said, maybe it's entitlement.

His 6'9" wingspan is special.

Close enough to 2024 core that we give it a shot. Without injury, situation wouldn't be much different next summer. Now we have Simons + potential lottery pick instead of potential to resign KP

Well now he gets to go to Miami and rehab. Not going to be a ton of looks for a guy who will be 36 by the time he can get back on the court.

Constable was telling y’all. Cs gonna try and reset the repeater tax. Tatum injury sealed it. Timing aligns.
