Even dating back to Girardi we struggled to knock in RISP, hence why guys like Larry Bowa and Kevin Long were fired.

All I know is with a man on second in extra innings and no outs...try bunting him over to third once in while.

Cashman and the rocket scientists are not worried because the Yankees are 4th in runs over the past 10 years. The way the team approaches hitting must influence major slumps and lack of situational hitting. The computer needs help.

I can see a scenario where Wells is traded, Rice is the full time catcher and Bellinger resigned to play 1st and let Grisham and Goldschmidt go and Jones and Dominguez play center and left.

That would be a damn disaster, considering the amount of quality catchers we’ve given away.

Anyway, hoping Wells can bounce back. He’s still a great defender and calls games well. Your scenario might be a ways away though…can’t see it happening next year.

I've had a few friends who were more talented than Leiter Jr but couldn't manage to break into the majors because they didn't have any family connections, yet we are forced to have the Yankees version of Chris Smith on our team because of what his dad and uncle accomplished 30 plus years ago.
