Re: The 2025 Wolves Off Season
I seriously don't get the Ingles signing as doesn't his 3.6 million go against our cap and reduced the little amount that we have to spend. Since he's a vet his minimum is quite a bit more than rookie or young free agent. Lets say we wanted to bring in 2 of Simmons, Brogdon and Melton and while Brogdon is probably a minimum guy, Simmons and Melton are looking for something above minimum.

He only counts against the salary cap as the minimum 2.2 but will get paid more for his years of service.

I find it interesting that we got a second round pick. Yes, I suppose we helped ATL by letting them use a TPE and save their MLE, but often in these free agent situations when a team can just sign a guy, the seller actually pays something to turn it into a trade so they can get a TPE. If I was Connelly, I’d have created leverage by giving ATL the idea that we might just sign NAW for $14, and worry about lux taxes and the apron at the deadline?
That said, I’m still a little concerned that we’ve seen Connelly get cash instead of an additional second round pick twice already, under new ownership. I hope this isn’t a mandate to help Lore and ARod pay lux taxes, like Taylor/Kahn traded down a pick to get the cash to fire Rambis.
There is nothing to say that Atlanta would have sent a second 2nd instead of cash.

Re: The 2025 Wolves Off Season
Something important to remember for all of the talk about second PG options is that Julius effectively served as the PG on the floor for chunks of last season, with pretty solid results.

Not against OKC in the playoffs. He averaged 4.5 turnovers in the four losses.

Last a I paid attention to him he was good. Has his game declined in the last two years? If not I'm totally on board with him.

The cash we are getting is insignificant all things considered. I'm wondering if the cash received goes against or credited to our cap money.

And Anthony Edwards struggled against OKC....does that mean we should trade him?!

It is not factored into the salary cap or luxury tax.

With the propensity to go back to players the front office has connections to, I wonder if we look at Dante Exum at all

I would be onboard with Anthony.

Anthony is like a mini dlo but for a minimum won’t be a bad pickup. He gets hot shooting a few games a season.

I’m down for an Aussie takeover, Landale or Reath as backup center too?

No thanks. He's a below average shooter and bad defender.

If the wolves were to obtain Dame, would the contract then be theirs to pay or would Mil still be on the hook for it?

I'm sort of guessing here, but if a team claims him off waivers, they would be responsible for his contract. If he clears waivers, he's a free agent. Either situation requires cap space though.

Re: The 2025 Wolves Off Season
Since the Bucks seem desperate, I wonder if they will be interested in DDV. A 2031 or 2032 first from them looks really juicy, and DDV contract is totally what they could use.
