Maybe I’m biased because he’s my 2nd favorite player but I’ll gladly shelf Dame for cheap during our “bridge year” and bring him back the following (if we’re trying to build a contender at that point) even if he’s just a bench scorer at that point. Very low risk, very high reward.

Some in here gave so much flank to those of us who stood our grounds with the package we were willing to offer and our stance that we should not sell the farm for Dame given his contract and age. The same people giving us flank back then would be so unbearable today complaining about us needing to make moves but not having assets… and doomsday given Dame’s unplayable condition and untradeable contract.

Get Dame. Develop the youth. Get a good lotto pick. Dame back for 26-27 season with prime Bam and Herro and developed youth. This is the like the most easiest decision Riley has ever had to make.

If both Luka and Giannis sign extensions this offseason (which I expect), then Miami should be in full tank (and development) mode this season with an eye towards upping trade value of every player on roster and shopping each of Bam and Herro (and Wiggins) for draft capital.

The bucks could have attached multiple first round picks along with Dame and found a team to give them expirings.. theyre like nah, we want to keep Giannis and we want to compete right now.

It will be interesting to see what their next move is. They need guards in a bad way and they got some firsts to trade
