I mean, brave, but could be really shortsighted

At the same time, Lillard's annual cap hit and Turner's new contract combine for less then Lillard would make, while not playing... but it lasts considerably longer too... make of it what you want

let's take a sec to acknowledge that Myles Turner was on the team that went to 7 in the NBA finals and left them to join the Bucks

How exactly does this work?

MIL is still so cooked. Giannis/Portis/Turner are their top 3 players all at the 4/5 and then they got....?

He had two years left on his contract that’s stretched out over 5 years which opened up 30+ million in cap space.

They resigned Gary Trent Jr, Kevin Porter Jr and I’m assuming are not done if the spaces used to sign Tuner was pure capspace.

Nasty work though waiving Dame.

They're idiots

This current roster is trash. They have zero chance of winning.

Just trade Giannis for the **** haul and move on.

Oh, someone's bitter their corporate media-influenced assumption Giannis has to go may have been premature.

And you're speaking from little knowledge. Giannis/KPJ had the best net rating of any duo in the east at their minute threshold. So did the lineup they started in game 5 in the series w/ the Pacers, who they were +6 against. The Pacers who may have won it all if not for the Haliburton injury.

Wow, at least Dame can rehab without pressure and join a squad the following year that will be a better fit.

And I guess the Bucks are trying again to upgrade this roster somehow

lol this is insanity, how do they expect to build a roster that can contend with 22.6m in dead money for the next 5 seasons, no good young players and little draft capital?

Dame is done in the NBA. At his age and his injury history, it is time to focus on his rapping career.

I get it.

They had no other venues to improve their roster. The cupboard of assets was bare and they were capped out.

But my oh my. That's a LOT of money for what frankly looks like a partial roster.

I'm guessing Indy probably couldn't afford him. Or he wanted to cash in on his last big contract and this was the time.

If anything with the way the NBA is cutting and trading players you have to secure your bag

Giannis still in his prime. Basically had to be done for them to have a chance to compete. With the East being relatively weak next season, smart move but Bucks might have to do a full rebuild in a few years.

Not really bitter, I know my team had 0 chance of acquiring him anyways.

But yeah, sorry, not taking anyone serious who is trying to hype up Kevin Porter Jr.

This team is frankly, ****.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

This also opens up the $8m Room Exception.

They can trade PatC + FRP for an upgrade.

Next summer they’ll get the full MLE.

Even with these moves MIL isnt competing. No team with Kuzma / KPJ as their 2nd options is winning squat.
