We just got unlucky with injuries.
Because of the Olympic stuff, plus we had the shortest offseason ever (played in NBA finals, then had to start out preseason early in Abu Dabi..)
This clip elaborates on why we're seeing players get hurt more..
I think it's more over usage via training rather than playing.
When LeBron finally retires, he can make another billion dollars giving a detailed insight on how to train properly.
He was never a big advocate of weight training. He is all about maintaining.
Now he is an enigma and genetic freak, but whatever he did to his body was the way to be IMO.
He averaged 71 GAMES A SEASON IN 22 YEARS !!! That's bonkers![]()

Lebron is an outlier.
Also, as Presti says in the clip, the game is vastly different today than it was even just like 5-6 years ago. So most of those 22 years for Lebron aren't even relevant to today's game since they were so long ago, when the game was very different.
Well, I don't agree with Presti.
My son is a competitive junior athlete and my nephew just graduated from a Div 1 lacrosse program. The amount of time these kids are playing is increasing exponentially and they starting younger and younger. Big business and nobody wants to miss out.
Baseball has conceded and just decided that tommy john surgery is inevitable and they will still draft those players and sign them to big contracts.
The highest level softball pitchers can pitch forever, back to back it doesn't matter. Underhand throwing is natural vs overhand throwing.
Youth sports will continue to grow all over, training needs to be adjusted and more research and studies need to be conducted.
Look at the players who have had these achilles injuries. Majority players who were high minute long career players.
ACL injuries are different because they fall awkwardly or step awkwardly and pop. They've done a good job understanding the importance of strong hips when it comes to helping protect knees.
I'd love to hear from international posters why soccer players have such long careers.
