Jake Fischer
@JakeLFischer

There is certainly more dust to settle from Myles Turner landing in Milwaukee, as ESPN reports. I’m being told the big man wanted to remain with the Pacers, who he helped lead to the Finals, but Indiana’s offers for Turner never truly exceeded the three-year, $60 million range.

there is no chance you are starting Yabu and KAT together at the 4/5 if you want to defend anyone.

The Knicks can definitely go double big even to start for sure but I wouldn't be surprised if we see Mitch subbed out early and then return later to keep one of Mitch and KAT on the floor at all times.

I think that should be the move. Another good idea would be to get another back up center. Huk is great but as a second year player they need someone more reliable there to not have to overly rely on Mitch.

I don't think they have any money left for anyone that isn't useless on the floor at vetmin. Yes, I too, am concerned about depth because of health issues but Huk might be ready for a few more mins this season and Yabuty is thick enough to man the 5 spot in a small ball scenario.

He doesn't offer much rim protection but to be fair it doesn't seem like they will be focusing as much on that now that Thibs is gone who was a fiend for it. I'm not happy about that because I think it's very important in the defense to keep people out of the paint but it is what it is.

I agree but if Brown is the coach his success in Sac didn't involve stout inner defense so he might be ok with a starting unit that doesn't come out of the gate clamping anyone but using more defensive groups later in the game with the two big line ups.

Or the defensive scheme is different relying on pressuring the perimeter more using the guys they have in OG and Mikal, giving up less threes and/or more zone defenses that hide the deficiencies of a starting unit featuring those two guys.

listen for the TPMLE you aren't going to do much better than Yabu. He's in his prime and very productive offensively. But he's not starting next to KAT...he doesn't defend well enough for that.

You either are starting Deuce and going small or you start Mitch now and go big.

But either way Yabu is certainly someone that can be productive in 20 minutes or so. He is also a really good offensive rebounder so there will be some interesting lineups we can put out there and he has to be guarded at the 3 pt line.

You can make the case, Horford obviously has playoff experience but Yabu has played at a high level international ball for France he's been in big games before. Also being like 10 years younger matters. Horford was basically handled with kid gloves...no back to backs ect and even at the end of the year he was breaking down.

Horford had a 56% TS last year
Yabu had a 62% TS last year

way more efficient and way more physical a player...now you probably give the edge to Horford defensively but even in the playoffs we were seeking horford out...he gets by with smarts but he doesn't move the way he use to and its only a matter of time before he's completely washed.
