Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.4
Do the Pacers have space to sign Deandre Ayton?
They need a center now, and as you may recall, they were hot after Ayton last time he was a FA. When Ayton was a RFA with PHX, Indy offered him a max contract, which PHX ended up matching.
I wonder if they can play spoiler for the Lakers here

Would shock me if the Lakers and Pacers were not fighting over Ayton right now

Fascinating that nobody knows what we're doing (queue the jokes that not even the Heat know). Now that thats out the way:
Shams doubled down on Heat interest in Kuminga leading into FA, local reporters have doubled down on dismissing that.
Our good for nothing local reporters know who we are allegedly not pursuing but per usual have zero pulse on what we're trying to do until the national big dogs put out a headline they can piggyback off of.

Lebron is so full of it. He was leaving one way or another and you know what? I don’t blame him. Pat Riley had a garbage team around him going into the offseason. Wade was a shadow of himself and Bosh ended up having the blood clot issue the following season. Instead of staying on a bad team Lebron went on to win a championship with Cleveland. But for Lebron to try to be like “oh waiving a guy who broke his back every time he shot the ball is messed up, I am leaving!” is just such a bad way to find an excuse to leave. Over a decade has passed, Lebron needs to be honest and admit he was just ring shopping.
Proud embarrassment

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.4
I dont understand why there are actual Heat fans that are excited about Dame being available.. yall realize this isnt 2021, he is 35, will be 36 when he is medically cleared to play in the 26-27 season.
We may as well go after Lowry again, he might be more productive than Dame at this point

His age now or when he returns isn't the concern. He was a 25ppg guy on 45% FG and 38% from 3. He was productive before the blood clots and then the injury. Steph and Harden are older and both remain productive(Harden in the regular season). The injury is obviously the concern. The price will matter.

Because, unlike Lowry, who was an overrated role player, Dame is the f'n real deal. Just him as a shooter is better than most players Miami has on its roster. Like Damon Jones but on steroids. And that's almost the worst-case scenario.

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.4
We can sign dame on the vet min and let him recover while another team pays like we have done in the past. He is 2 years out though and we have a ton of players to still drop.
