This almost has to be a sign and trade.

Gonna preface this by saying I really like Myles Turner and think the money is about right for his talent level. But are the Bucks a better team this year than last year? Is this enough to get Giannis to stay and waste another year of his prime? Is Turner good enough to be the second best on a championship team? Is Kuzma good enough to be the third best? Stretching Dame is also gonna be very limiting financially in the years ahead. I get doing it to keep Giannis, but I don’t know if they are gonna achieve that beyond maybe one more year?

Wouldn't be surprised if we hear Siakam being shopped now. Just no real easy way to attain a starting caliber center for Indy.

Ayton is still out there..

If he was signed for $12 million a year for 3 years it might make sense as a short term fix but he's not as good as Turner over all, less blocks and poor 3pt shot.

Kuzma or Portis, assuming you guys would prefer Portis coming back.

I'd rather have Portis, Kuzma is hot garbage.

Clearly a desperation move that I think burns them in the long run.

Why is Jarret Allen worth $30 million per on his extension?

Really I think Cavs made a mistake giving Allen that much and with so few teams with money it limits the market for Centers even if he's a shot blocking 39% 3 pt shooter like Turner.

I think Indy would've paid tax if they actually felt they had another run next year but Hali's achilles completely changes all of that. still, the tax should've made them trade Toppin or someone, not letting Turner walk. that's crazy

Pacers essentially chose Toppin over Turner, they probably could've dumped the former.

Or they just absolutely tried to overplay their hand of “who else has cap space?”

Think they tried to finesse Myles to save money and it bit them. It bit them because they still have no means of replacing Myles. Not this year or next.

Toppin is under a great contract and he was incredible against OKC in the finals but in some match ups he will get destroyed. Legit feel bad for Pacers fans.

I don't think that's fair. you need to build with a timeline in mind and our timeline doesn't include a big year in 2025-26 with no Tyrese.

The new CBA didnt make indy break it up, their cheap ass owner did to avoid the tax, and woulda done the same old or new cba

I said this a min ago but I've said it about 40 times, the Pacers won't pay tax in 2025-26.

Jarrett Allen is much better at center things even if he can't shoot 36% from the three like Turner.

Random question..

If Giannis still demands out (I hope he doesn’t).. Is Milwaukee better off with the dead cap and the asset that Turner is or with the two year anchor that Dame would’ve been?

Turner should return an asset or if you get enough for Giannis maybe you don’t tank and Turner sticks around as a floor raising starter..

But then you pay Dame through your 2026’s draft pick rookie contract..

I think I take Turner and deal with the dead cap even if Giannis demands out. But think I’d be in minority.

Love the Turner addition, hate it for Indy, but wow this whole shake up I feel makes the East even worse.

Their last Hail Mary attempt to keep Greek. But makes it hard to add around him long term.

If it works it's worth it. If it doesn't well they're **** anyway. Might as well roll the dice.

I don't see the Bucks better than 4th unless they do something else.

The "superteam"/"stars and scrubs" model basically doesn't work in the apron era.

so with Tyrese and Siakam maxed, there was only room for a "secondary star contract" for Turner. your theory suggests Nembhard, Nesmith, and Turner should all get around 20mm and that apparently was the offer.

It’s absolutely incentivized right now that’s for sure.
