But I haven't seen or heard any "Thanks for the love ORL...fam blah blah" stuff...like how he's doing

I watched the Suggs interview the day after the trade and he just had a huge smile about getting Bane and "what a great start to the day it was". It was almost like he didn't care KCP and Cole were gone....or he just saw the bigger picture about how massively better Bane is than them.
Weltman didn't give any praise to Cole in his interviews. None that I've heard.

Suggs and Cole were never a good fit on the court.

We all understand that Bane is much better than Cole…I’m just surprised we haven’t seen any public comments from Cole. Emotional guy- I’d hate to think he took it too personal. I would expect a gracious funny post at least.

Good luck with that. We can't even find a team to absord Jett's contract.

If we accept that Caldwell-Pope and Anthony were only salaries, then the 4-5 low-end FRPs for Bane is looking more and more like a steal by Orlando!

it also goes to show you how " team friendly" contracts that Weltman handed like drunk millionaire, weren't that friendly at all.

He literally had to sold farm of picks to move them.

Cole as player isn't very valuable, he is small 6'2-6'3 shooting guard who can't defend.
KCP was valuable when he made sub $12M a year and played on contender, before turning 30.

How Magic ended up in situation where Isaac, KCP , Cole and Carter combine for $76M is question that Weltman should be asked. That fool really thought 2023-24 Magic 47 wins, with no injury on roster whole year, after first round exit, was championship roster.

This is one of the laziest misreads you keep trotting out like it’s some gotcha. No one called the 47-win team a title contender! Weltman explicitly said we were exiting the teardown and entering a talent evaluation phase. That’s textbook team-building.

You clowned the organic rebuild when it was slow and methodical, then turned around and praised Presti for doing the same thing—just a few years ahead. You lacked the patience and vision to understand what was being built, and now that we’re shifting into win-now mode, you’re scrambling to reframe the narrative. You were wrong then, and you’re still trying to catch up.

He resigned how many players from that year?
Goga
Franz
Suggs
Carter
Isaac
Gary Harris
Cole
Moe

That's 8 men out of 14 men roster.

Presti' rebuild lasted 2 years. They had 44-28 record in 2019-20, by the 2022-23 they already had 40-42 roster.
Literally, from 2020-21 to 2024-25. That's all it took to win a title, win 68 games and build by far best team in nba for him. Four years from zero to title.

Jeff has been Magic's POBO & GM & alpha & omega for 8 years. Magic are yet to win playoff series.

It's not narrative. It's called telling facts. Did he overpaid for Cole, KCP, Carter and isaac. Yes or no?

This isn't opinion based question. It's matter of fact question.

One of the best people to be part of the team. He gave a damn and played like it every game. I'll be rooting for him wherever he goes.

I’m assuming the CBA wouldn’t allow us to get him back at a reduced amount, if they wanted to bring him back.

The guy forgets his teammates the second he touches a basketball on the court. It’s no surprise he won’t be missed. Nobody likes playing with guys like that unless they’re good enough to win you games.

Exactly that. He said one and did the other. His actions on the court didnt match with his words. I knew what will happen the moment he told his sister to shut up becouse its his moment during the draft :p

And he still generated more assists per 100 possessions than any other Magic player...

So if we are going by that logic, they all hate playing with each other since Cole was closest thing to Steve Nash Magic had 8-)

Cole is not as selfish as you think, he just isn't very good player and when he is not scoring with efficiency he isn't giving you anything and like every other Magic player, needs ball in his hands to be effective.

I never understood his draft hype, hated his rookie year, hated his contract exst. Hated that "team friendly " BS narrative and i'm happy he is gone.
But in same time, i even felt bad about perception of fans about him. Like, guy was always dragged through mud on forums who in same time defended Fultz or Payton, like... dude is actually much better player than both and will make more money and stay in nba for several more years for sure.
Just doesn't have army of fanboys to "defend" him.

That said, it's crazy how much time we all waste talking about those replacement level talents who are in reality just career journeymen.

Cole getting bought out and landing in Utah or San Antonio on a vet minimum would be a wild turn of events.

Friendly reminder this is an appreciation thread.

I still think he has a place in the NBA. Scoring punch off the bench for teams that need it but also have more then 1 option off the bench. I think without that and a clearly defined role he is playing all of his weaknesses like here.

Phoenix would be a good spot for him.

I admittedly didn’t like Cole at first. His personality was a little hard to grip. But as time went on I grew to really appreciate the class guy he is and the grit he played with. Wherever he ends up I hope he gets his career going strong like he was two years ago. I think he ends up in Brooklyn, New York or maybe Charlotte.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

There is a lot of chatter about him going to the Bucks. They are probably negotiating a buyout.
