Grimes is likely choosing between a 4-year, $60+ million deal or taking the qualifying offer, an option that’s risky for him. It’s highly unlikely he replicates that 20-4-4 stat line with us, and the market seems to agree.

So… Giannis is definitely getting traded, right?

What makes you think that? These moves are obviously an attempt to appease him into staying.

Don't buy the "report" that Giannis is unhappy with Lillard leaving. That makes no sense and obviously is PR spin to make Giannis look like a good person. Damian Lillard with one leg wasn't going to help him win anything.

Would love to know what’s on Morey’s mind. Does he actually believe in Jo and PG being healthy and turning it around?
Because he sure seems like he’s content to watch this ship slowly sink. The plan can’t be to just wait out Jo and PG’s contracts

Of course that's the plan considering neither Jo or PG are currently tradable.

The plan is to hope they are healthy this year to a) make a run and/or b) boost their value enough so we can trade them.

In the meantime, we're getting younger and more athletic throughout the rest of the roster, which sets us up for a post Jo & PG future, whenever that comes.

If we can get grimes for 60/4 it would be a huge win. Yabu is whatever... He shot well from 3, but didndt rebound well and doesnt mesh with Embiid (if he is still a player).

What kind of cap flexibility are they going to have to become a contender not only next year but the immediate future?

Bucks just signed Myles Turner. I doubt they are moving Giannis at this time. I think the plan in Milwaukee is to remain flexible. They'll add some more pieces and if they aren't in the contenders realm by the deadline they can move Giannis and still have the players to at least be a play in team.

I think the Bucks are just managing things one year at a time until Giannis forces a trade.

We'll they have to try and win anyways considering they don't have any of their own picks through eternity.

Probably used Giannis as a recruiting chip

What's the counter to letting him go? Truly curious

Who's your ideal replacement that we could come away with?

They could have tried to offload assets to a dog **** team to get off Lillard, but chose to waive him. Feels like they’re ready to rebuild.

Not now that they signed Turner. They're up there with the Knicks as conference favorites right now.

I think we already got the answer with Trendon Watford. He’s a similar player that can take over the PF mins from Yabu at a third of the price.

You got that from signing a 24 year old to a minimum contract?

Knicks honestly cooking.

Losing Yabu was dumb.... Whether he rebounds or not... He can put a body on people and box out... And that's important. Plus he can stretch out and play 4 or 5 and because of Joel we didn't really see that play out.

But further more, at that price.. He's a good trade chip to a contender for picks.

Would be great if they can get KJ Martin back should jazz let him go at some point

Hunter Sallis was another masterful 2-way pickup by Morey. He was excellent statistically as an older prospect.

I'd rather have Watford. I'd sign Chris Boucher. I'm actively looking to trade Oubre and Drummond.
