2nd apron in 2026/2027 is projected to be $230 million and the Celtics projected salary is about $185 million while keeping Tatum, Brown, White, Pritchard, Hauser, Scheierman, Garza, Queta and Gonzalez. Brad Stevens has $45 million to fill in the rest. Stevens working this off-season to perfection.

FROM SHAMS:

Free agent F/C Sandro Mamukelashvili has agreed to a two-year, $5.5 million deal with the Toronto Raptors, plus a second year player option, sources tell ESPN. George Roussakis and Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports negotiated the new deal with the Raptors.

‪Jim Owczarski‬

The #Bucks are bringing back reserve center Jericho Sims.

After a quick glance at the free agency signings and trades (thank you, bisme37!) -- I like the off-season of Hawks, Rockets, and Nuggets so far. Knicks additions are okay for depth. And Magic improved with Bane for KCP swap.

they must need an exact dollar amount to do another deal and Micic will work as a match and Pat wont????
its not possible they value Micic on his own or value the $1.3 million savings over Connaugton ... is it???

very interesting deal
After this, MIL has no more 2nds until next draft opens up 2033 ... so wtf?

T&T board rumor is Micic wants to do a buyout and go back to Europe, so they'd save money there as well.

I guess the potential use of 45 million would be from Simons / Niang contracts and MLE?

Goodbye Al :(

Read on Twitter

Seems like he's going to the warriors prbably, since they just lost Looney and haven't signed anyone else yet..plus they're in win-now ring chasing mode with Steph, Draymond and Jimmy

Roster reset:

Looks bad, but in 26-27 when Tatum is healthy..and assuming by that time we've gotten an upgrade at C, we'll be back in title contention.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Simons will be gone for sure.

That's not bad, $45M for 5 players mostly at the bottom of your roster, say 1x $30M, 1x MLE, 3x minimum contracts.

That list already has 3 guys at the "bottom"

That list only has 3 starters and 2 legit bench pieces (one not playable in playoffs) and no fromt court.

They're not looking to go above their maxed out Jays and DWhite at the top. Rico will be a burgeoning star by then. :D PP and Sammy are proven. Hugo will be a bargain. Garza and Queta, Amari's backups.

I thought yall loved Rico, what happens with minutes? What if he's a 20ppg scorer while not being inept on D? That’s a big boon for us where we won’t have to spend money when Tatum gets back. Then we could use money on depth pieces.

Same for Gonzales. Hell, maybe Queta pops.

To write us off before we finally get these guys on the court. Imagine how much money can be saved if one of these guys really pops. This is the season where you have to play them, by that next season, they’ll have earned some trust! If we can get one of them to consistently get around 15 to 20 points over the course of this season, that could do wonders for our budget. Then maybe squeeze out another excellent defender in one of them. The future isn’t as bleak as people are saying it is.

Edit: kool-Aid or whatever, it’s better FOR ME than being miserable about something that hasn’t happened yet!

They must be working on a sign-and-trade for AL. If Marks really knows where he's going, why hasn't it been announced yet?

Couldn't agree more. If one of these low salary guys (or someone else we haven't acquired yet) can ascend to strong starter/fringe all-star level over the next two years, we are golden.

Plus Brad has already screwed up the 26 and 27 drafts.

Plus JB is going to suffer a career ending injury.

Plus DW is actually 38 years old.

We're DOOMED.

I know people will say what if none of them pop, but then we can worry about trading off some of our premium pieces. The point is we don’t have to right now!
