Ya that's kinda stupid.
If he has a decent season, he'll just bolt in free agency next summer.

Yeah, that is how you convince him to come here. He has a $5.5M floor with the potential to earn more.

Yeah, that's fair.

I'm happy with the signing. If Mamu decides to leave, we can draft a big next summer.

Hum… We might lose Battle now, no roster spot for him. And we don’t have spot for Alijah Martin.

What does that have to do with this signing?

If it took giving a player option to sign him, you do it.

Everything. Prioritize flexibility until contending status.

Again, either you like the signing or you don't. Either you like the player or you don't.

If you have a problem with previous moves that led to the raps current cap situation there's a million other threads to discuss that.

If he has no suitors I’d gladly bring him back on a minimum.

He would be a terrific 3rd string energy big.

Last season with the Spurs in 61 games:

You’re missing the big picture here:

Per 36: 20,10,3 with a steal and a block! We just got our Siakam replacement baby!

How can anyone hate Boucher who was a class act getting benched during his contract year...

how is wanting him off the team hating on him?

he was a terrible player who couldn't learn any systems since he joined the team.

He was far from terrible. My god.

I think the ship has sailed with CMB getting drafted but I think he's underrated at this point.

Player option, or likely no signing.

It was their choice to not have money.

Exactly. Plus Mamu wasn't gonna sign 3 year 8 mil anyway. He knows coming to Raptors he'll have the minutes, moreso than in SA, so he hopes to improve his stock, decline the option, and get paid next year.

He looked solid with the Spurs! Sandro was playing about 20mpg after Wemby went down and had some very interesting games, including the last game of the season vs. the Raptors (12/4/4 with a steal in 19 mins).

Smart player, solid rebounder, sneaky passer, not afraid to shoot the 3 (37%), not overly athletic but I think will fit what Darko wants to do perfectly given what he has Yak doing as a starter.

Good value at $2.75M AAV too, not bad not bad.

This is extremely common around the entire NBA.

It’s essentially a 1-year deal. If he blows up you have him in your system and hopefully that allows you to retain him.
