Not sure if this was posted.

https://basketnews.com/news-226947-celtics-first-rounder-hugo-gonzalez-recorded-historic-hand-measurement-at-nba-draft-combine.html

Gonzalez recorded the longest hand length of any player at the Combine, measuring 10.25 inches (26 cm) from the tip of his middle finger to the base of his palm, via Celtics insider Taylor Snow.

Only one player in NBA Draft Combine history has ever measured longer—Tacko Fall, with a hand length of 10.5 inches.

I don't think so. He'll always be primarily an off the ball wing IMO, although he's improved his ability to create with the ball he's not a natural playmaker.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

So is it like with puppies? Does this mean he's still growing?

(And as if he wasn't already guaranteed to be a hit with the ladies in Boston!)

From the ESPN article "2025 NBA draft: Value picks, risky moves, ROY predictions"

In five years, we're all going to wonder why ___________ fell in the draft?

Givony: Hugo Gonzalez to the Boston Celtics at No. 28. I had him rated as the No. 15 player on my personal big board, 13 spots ahead of where he was drafted. He started the process as a projected top-10 pick, but it's not hard to understand why his stock fell, as he struggled to get on the floor for a loaded Real Madrid team. Had Gonzalez played for Ratiopharm Ulm, went to BYU (which recruited him heavily prior to signing Demin), or spent a season with the NBL Next Stars program in Australia ... he would have been a clear lottery pick in my view.

He built an impeccable résumé as one of the top prospects in international basketball in FIBA youth competitions and junior club competition prior to this season.

I also love his fit in Boston, where he's certain to emerge as a fan favorite due to the frenetic intensity level he brings defensively. I was told Boston was telling agents it planned to sign whichever rookie it took with this pick for 80% of the rookie scale, but due to Gonzalez's significant buyout with Real Madrid ($1.4 million), that won't be viable, as Gonzalez will already need to cover a significant portion of that out of his pocket.

Ah, jeez. The poor guy has to pay for his own buyout--and then the C's tried nickel and diming him too?

No..he's a wing, not a PG.

flintsky21 wrote:You can mask his lack of shooting better in that position ala Josh Giddey.

Eh, idk. Giddey shot 37.8% from 3 last season. I feel like good PG's pretty much have to shoot it well from 3 (like they have to at least be hitting 34-35% at a minimum) unless they're an elite defender

I think there's probably more good wings who lack shooting than good PG's who lack shooting.

Our guy looking quite good in Adidas Next Generation tourney. Showcases him and Demin vs Traore. You get a better feel for them in this game vs individual season highlights. You really can see why all three of these guys were first rounders. Helluva good game. Went to OT. Our guy MVP.

Thanks for posting. As I’ve even saying, Hugo was better than Egor in Spain the past few years and seen as the better prospect by consensus going into last fall. Difference is Egor took the offer to go to BYU while Hugo stayed on Madrid’s superteam, which skyrocketed Egor’s stock into top 10.

Not saying Hugo will be better than Egor in the league but love this pick at end of first round!

I knew nothing about him until we drafted him. The more I see him , the more I like him. Especially liked this game. It's old, obviously, but I had never seen it, didn't know who won, and it was a fun watch, with Hugo hitting a three to send it to OT. I have high hopes for him.

Funny. I had that same thought earlier today. It's the motor. Might as well dream big.

I like how he’s honoring RJ Hunter by wearing #28.

You sure he's not sucking up to Sam?

And he could be the most handsome young man on Boston's pro sports scene.

Has a player named Hugo ever played minutes in the NBA, or will this kid have an opportunity to be the first?

I couldn't find any Hugos that have logged NBA minutes

According to Chat GPT, there has not been any Hugo to play an NBA game.

The first will either be Hugo Gonzalez, or Hugo Besson, a french player who is a draft and stash right now..draft a couple yrs ago..

Love this..give him plenty of mins with the big club during our bridge year next season:

And he says the player he likes to watch the most is Ginobili. Oh man, if we've got a taller Manu here, we struck gold..even if he's a worse (but taller) Manu, that's a huge win:

If he's not in the opening night rotation, we riot..half kidding.
