Waiving Dame and stretching the contract, forcing us to pay him for 3 extra years
Trading Pat and 2 2nds
Buying out the incoming Micic
No longer able to use the MLE OR BAE
No longer able to use the Middleton trade exception

Turner is a huge get but all of the things needed to get him here really destroys any chance of making any more meaningful moves

Some notes here..

- Pat and 2nds for (buyout) Micic could happen even without these Dame and Turner moves just to avoid the tax.

- No longer able to use the MLE or BAE bust still had the room exception.

- No longer able to use the Middleton trade exception, but I highly doubt Bucks would use it either way.

He also seemed to be clamouring for a warm city like Miami. I truly believe this will be addition by subtraction. Chemistry matters, but can be fragile and elusive. When you have folks that aren't all the way in, that can suck the life out of your locker room, despite what they tell the media. Looking forward to the Bucks' defence being in the top tier again as well. Like someone has said here, the idea of Dame was always better than the reality.

I could feel Dame's I want no part of being in Milwaukee energy though my TV by his 3rd game as a Buck.

I am elated that he's gone.

I agree. Big "pouting" energy.

I think the biggest benefit from Dame's exit, though, is the return of nuclear-powered gravitational-force Giannis. He is the star that everything else in the Bucks solar system should revolve around. Giannis became "polite" when Dame was competing for touches. I want "exert my will" no apologies, soul-stealing Giannis, and I think this establishes that pecking order and hopefully returns the alchemy that led to our previous championship.

Kuzma and 31 1st for Herb Jones and Alvarado? Saves 3M we could use to sign Rollins?

PG KPJ, Alvarado, Rollins
SG GTJ, AJG
SF Herb, Prince
PF Giannis, Portis
C Turner, Sims

Seems pretty set for the next couple of year

We'll have to wait and see. But we don't have full control over that anymore. Maybe they pre-arranged this deal to remove the cap hold.

We'll see what the results end up being of course but a day ago we wondered if we could afford to sign KPJ or Trent and if Markovic could contribute this season. The level of activity we've seen the past 24 hours is unprecedented and navigating all of these moves (trades, signings, waive/stretch) does take some wizardry.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

In talking about my Portis "hate" ... we were finally out of his contract. His D never improved.. my preference (not hate) is we come off the bench with defenders/quickness. Being a cool dude doesn't move the needle for me. Watching Prince and Bobby get lost off ball every play on D wasn't on the list for me next year. Pray BP gets it next year? Sure ok

In that instance does the Bucks waived and stretch number decrease? Does Dame double dip there?

Double dip. 20mil on the books for bucks next 5 years. No changing that.

Gets paid by us 113 mil next 2 years.

Next team pays him whatever the going rate is on top of 113 mil.

I don’t think you do like Rollins lol.

He is a useful development guard who can defend so it would be a shame if we didn’t want to keep him

That's why I said I''ll wait and see. We needed to renounce to sign Turner. So let's see how the backup PG plays out. It's still 3+ months until the season starts. Not every move is done in the first 24 hours.

All this activity and people can’t be patient to see where we go from here? All those moves and we still haven’t wasted a significant asset other than Dame on the books. Take a breath guys.

Losing the TPE and full MLE is whatever. I was always skeptical of anyone who thought we were gonna legitimately upgrade the roster with these meager salary exceptions that will almost always net you nothing more than some type of journeyman rotation guy. Leveraging Kuzma's salary plus the 2031 1st was always gonna be the avenue to a legit roster upgrade, and that's become a necessity with these other moves now.

Doesn't take long for the board to go back to it's regularly scheduled programming.

What do you think about Kuz/1st for Herb/Alvarado?

Don't know how Horsty is going to get it done, but I think they're one starting caliber wing away from being back in true contention.

Might be decent value but with the Pels going win now, who knows if guys like Herb and Trey are available

I don't think Herb makes sense anymore with how much we're clearly committed to the Giannis/Turner/Bobby frontcourt. You need a better shooter/offensive creator at wing or guard right now.

All I ask for as a sports fan is some hope. I have that now with the Bucks. It's still very hard to win a championship and there are many really good teams but I feel better about it than I did yesterday. The small market Brewers keep grinding away and staying in the hunt. The Packers aren't the favorites to win the SB but they're in the mix.

Hope feels good.
