This team has no value contract on it. Everyone feels overpaid.

Exactly wtf is everyone smoking. Poeltl is getting paid more than Turner & Zubac.

Realistically Poeltl should be valued at no more than 20 mil/year, but of course our FO is overpaying everyone and all our fans are like "bUT iTs fAiR mARkET vALuE"

Damn that doesn’t sound good when you put it like that.

My mistake, it's more like $164M with Jakob not getting a pay raise until 2027-28 due to the opt-in. Still a lot of money though.

Turner is paid more. Zubac signed his deal pre breakout. His next deal will likely be >30M

This board was certain you couldnt get peanuts for demar and we ended up trading him for kawhi lol. Kind of reminds me of the sentiment on RJ now

They also thought you couldn’t get anything for Bruce or Kelly bc Kelly was washed and we waited too long to move Bruce. Then we got freaking BI for both. I’ve learned to ignore most of the complainers and negative ppl on this board lol. They just love to hear themselves type lol. Supposedly everyone else’s players have value and are good and anybody who plays for the Raptors is trash and has no value and Bobby has no clue what he’s doing ever lol

kawhi value was at the lowest. raptors were the only ones taking that risk. celtics and sixers jumped off. and the spurs went to the raptors and got that deal done. mysterious kawhi injury and the fact that it was known that he goes to LA... its a bad example. that noise around kawhi tanked his value. and it was surprisingly cheap with demar and jak.

30 mill at most is fine money for an above-average starting level C and I don't think his game will degrade too much based on his playstyle. Max players will be legit getting double that amount by then.

And so was demars. This was after he completely choked vs the cavs and got benched by casey. Point is we still traded a player with "0 value" for a championship

I am not a fan of this at all but we were in trade or extend range here. Wanting to opt him in at the 19.5 tells me we are worried about being impacted by the RJ player option or Occhai extension.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

I can’t wait for you to realize how far off your player evaluation is. Until then, I’ll wait for the season. It’s gonna be a good one.

Put it this way: I’d rather have BI for expiring contracts and 1 first than bane for 4 firsts+
I believe in Masai.

I don't think Gafford is a great comparable. Gafford played 20 minutes last year and has never been above 24 in his career, while Poeltl averaged just under 30 mins last season. Poeltl is a legit 28-30 minute starting C.

yupp, true. but for most of those posters here, it was still considered a risk. i think in 9 out of 10 scenarios this wouldnt worked out that well. neither for us nor for kawhi.

Extending poeltl was smart. Top 15 centre. Solid on both ends. and cap going up so his pecentage of cap will be lower. Better to have him locked up to trade later if they want. Bobby did good. Centres are hard to come by.
