Not sure why I wouldn't just let them run the same dang thing and spend their attention span and effort on their defensive problems.

Yeah, why fix what isn't broken? Besides which, Stephanie White doesn't come from Seattle, she comes from Connecticut, and last year the Sun were dead last in the WNBA in points scored. Dead last.

Just a reminder, the Commissioner's Cup final is tomorrow, between the Fever and the Lynx. Some rumors have Clark playing, but we'll see. It's exclusively on Prime Video, I think. 8 PM Eastern time.

Awww. Oh well, got to get her healthy again. I'm getting the feeling this season is cursed though.

The guard competition for 4 ballot spots is very tough. I can kind of see leaving Clark off, but Natasha Cloud being 4th in player voting seems way too high. As bad as Clark has shot, Cloud is shooting even worse (by eFG%, TS%, and 3P%).

I love Tash, and defense does count, but she's having a career year (not the good outlier kind, but the matching her overall career averages kind), and she's never been an all-star before. I'd have a hard time giving her one of the 4 guard spots ahead of Clark, Allisha Gray, Skylar, Paige, Kelsey Mitchell, Kayla McBride, Plum, Sabrina, Sykes, Howard, Jackie Young or Courtney Williams.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

The Fever won the Commissioner's Cup! I bet they were glad to win that money. The Lynx didn't look quite like themselves, but it happens. The Fever looked good without Clark. This might make them stronger when it's all over and done with. Some nights they look like a championship team, and some nights they look like the worst team in the league. They might me nervous with that fourth quarter lead though, I kept waiting to see if they would blow it, but they didn't.

As for Clark's All-Star voting by the other players, I mean she's been injured about half the games. But yeah it's probably just hate.

Whether to put a player who otherwise would be a lock for the All Star team on the squad when they are hurt/not themselves for the first half of the season is always an issue. Sometimes an NBA player has missed the All Star team for that reason but ended up being named All NBA when the season ended. (For Jimmy Butler, that has happened more than once.)

I'm fine with either decision. Clark will be on the All Star team because of fan vote/TV expectations, but if she were left off I can see that, too. She hasn't yet been the real Clark this season, aside from 3-4 games.

AB ended up 9th in bigs in the player voting and she is having a great season. its all subjective.

slow start or not, CC is not guarded like she is the 9th best guard in the league.

I mean, NBA players are notoriously bad at talent evaluation themselves lol

Fever leading Aces by 22 at the half, crazy. They look like champs sometimes, and Clark isn't even playing. Still don't trust them not to blow it though, but wow they look good so far.

What job does Clark have right now, do you suppose? She often has a piece of paper in her hand and comes out to talk to the players sometimes. Is White sending in plays through her?

Two dominant defensive games in a row. Dare I say the Fever are finally putting it together?

I honestly expected a hangover game from them tonight.

I don't know much, but I do know that if the Fever keep holding teams under 60 points that they ain't never going to lose.

I say this as from a place of concern:

Becky Hammon looks like absolute hell. She’s aged in appearance twenty years in the last couple of seasons. Anybody know if she’s ok health-wise?

Howard has been excellent the past 2 games. That makes a big difference for the team, as they struggled at the #4 spot last year and Howard began poorly this year. But she seems to be finding her form. If so, that makes the Fever a true contender, assuming Clark recovers her health and plays like she did last year. The team would then have 4 strong starters plus Hull as the high-energy glue player. That's a winning combination.

4 straight home games coming up; Valkrie, sparks, atlanta, dallas. Valkyries are a different team on the road and that Sparks loss was one of the worst of the season. those should be wins. Dallas is playing better so that could be tough and then Atlanta is always tough.

Starting to wonder if Clark will be out through the all star game. the day to day talk is just to keep teams guessing imo. groins take a long time to heal.

As long as the team plays well there is no reason whatsoever to rush her back, let her heal even if it takes until post ASB I say.

"Those should be wins" is always a troublesome statement when it comes to the Fever.
