I say we trade him next year or with IQ or Barrett for a better c option. He is good for now and will keep you afloat. But not very exciting going forward.

At 30 years old, players are finished products. He hasn't developed it now, he never will. Look at his awful FT%, that is correlated to 3 pt%.

I don’t think Poetl is gonna develop a 3pt shot but for what it’s worth plenty of guys who don’t shoot well from the ft line have been able to hit the 3 at an average clip.

so based on report on how Bobby wanted to extend Siakam and trade him later

I guess his strategy is just extend and explore trades down the road. sort of like status quo and strike if there is a trade. rather than blow it up

which probably means no tanking

That’s a really good contract. Projects to be approximately 15% of the salary cap, which is more than reasonable for a starting centre. The partial guarantee in the last year is a nice touch.

He has a 15% trade kicker. Basically functions as a NTC in some ways since players end up waiving it only if they get to go where they want. Also makes it high unlikely we would approach him about a trade anytime soon.
