Turner was recruited by Giannis so a move to SA is not likely happening. Where did you get that idea?

This move all but assures this will be Giannis last season or half a season in Milwaukee.

You really know nothing about basketball or are you trolling.

His defense is why they signed him.

Actually, it seems that he paid closer attention to Indy's playoff run than you did. Turner seemed cooked. He could not defend his position. He could not jump. He was a liability in many stretches.

If it turns out he was laboring with an injury that was being covered up, that's one thing. But if not, I would never have given Turner what Milwaukee just did. If the Pacers had to let a player walk, they chose the right one.

Lopez - 13.0/5.0/1.8 - 1.9BPG - 62.4TS%
Turner - 15.6/5.6/1.5 - 2.0BPG - 61.2TS%

So instead of paying Lopez $10m or whatever it would have cost to retain him... they instead are gonna pay $47M to stretch Dame and get Turner

This is where stats fail you. Myles actually can switch out onto a player.

Lopez could only play drop. Still keep that fantasy league energy.

Turner is not some incredible switcher worthy of allocating an additional $40M for his services.

Which games was it evident that Turner can’t defend in the playoffs?

Start with the Knicks series. Whenever Mitchell Robinson was on the floor.

Why? Because the Bucks didn’t trade Giannis for a poo poo platter of Scottie Barnes, Grady Dick, whatever filler, and mediocre picks like you guys were fantasizing about the week before?

Turner's a very good player who is in his late prime. He used to be a game changer defensively, and now he has slipped to being a solid to good player on that end. He's good to very good offensively for his position. He's going to be a great fit next to Giannis.

But the Pacers have players they want to pay more coming up in the next two years in Mathurin, Nesmith, and probably Walker.

If Haliburton were healthy and the Pacers were a title contender next year, they should not take the risk of letting Turner go. If they didn't have other financial issues, they should not take the risk.

But with both of those being true, it made going into the center wilderness make sense. Turner is likely going to keep declining slightly over the life of this deal. It makes sense to shift the money to the next group of players coming up, and hope you can find a Lively type situation or a bargain basement center who just happens to fit perfectly with Hali. It's a risk, but so is every path they had, and it seems like the most sensible risk.

For the 2nd time this thread, I didn't think Toronto had any real shot at Giannis anyways.

But the Bucks not trading Giannis is horrible for MIL, and the NBA in general. A star is gonna rot the rest of his career on a team that has 1 other starting caliber player in Turner. MIL is going to for some reason not get max value out of Giannis right now and instead is going to risk him regressing or getting hurt or any other number of things.

FWIW - MIL would have a better future outlook with Barnes, #9, Dick, and future picks than they do now with Giannis, Turner, bench players, and zero picks. AND you could likely get a better deal than that anyways and have an even better outlook.

You guys have won 49 and 48 games in the last 2 years and you are worse today than you were 12 months ago.

He's not going to rot in MIL.

This is a desperation move and no I don't want Giannis on the Sixers or think they can trade for him. I am just reading the writing on the wall

I agree Towns looked good against Turner but Mitchell Robinson is in the game purely to rebound and defend. Other than that, Robinson was a negative for the Knicks so I don’t see your point

Scottie is awful, he’s not even a developing 2nd option. Dick is a C tier prospect. #9 turned into a pick that Raps fans are already questioning lmao this is a garbage rebuild package

Giannis is the one star player I could see not leaving, but that isn't the point.

The point is the Bucks roster is horrible, they have no way to improve it, they arguably got worse since last season, and their only remaining move is to rip off the bandaid.

Sure - give this giannis + turner + g-leaguers strategy a go; but my guess is you are at best a .500 team and Giannis (and maybe Turner to) are on a different team at this time next year. Maybe even by the deadline.

And yet, it would be better for the Bucks future than wasting Giannis' tail of his prime.

And again, I said right in the post you could get a better deal from other teams. Read my whole post.

Why is not winning a Championship considered a failure? Do all teams but 1 fail every year?

I think the Bucks winning some playoff series would be more than enough to justify keeping Giannis from a basketball and business perspective

Why can't you just stay on topic and discuss the Bucks? What does Toronto have to do with this?
