Last year we didn't really have a big and went 4-0 in regular games, and BARELY lost the Semis by 1 point to Memphis. Hope Jordan Miller plays still. He's got the new contract and probably wants to prove he can dominate, win MVP and win a Summer League championship to get some actual rotation minutes this year. Squad looks balanced:

PG: Kobe Sanders, Jahmyl Telfort
SG: Cam Christie, John Poulakidas
SF: Jordan Miller, Trentyn Flowers, Seth Lundy
PF: Kobe Brown, Patrick Baldwin Jr
C: Yanic Konan, New Pick Up

Could also see Jordan and Kobe Brown not play and them bringing in more un-drafted players or unsigned former FRP & SRPs

Can't wait to watch the SL team also, but Kobe Brown and Jordan Miller need to sit this one out. Jordan is going to go for 30 points a game and Kobe is going to take a ton of threes which means we won't see who's who and what's what in Cam Christie, Flowers, and the new guys Yanic and Kobe Sanders.

Yah, Flowers and Christie are still only 20 this year. 6-7 and 6-6. Summer League should be coached to feature them, to see what they've got as potential NBA rotation players. We have the ultrayoung youth project fetus athletic thing covered--they look to keep 2 of the 3 two-way spots.

No need to duplicate that with the picks this year-- Yanic has an NBA body [6'11 1/4 barefoot, 240] and will make the roster. Kobe II is a REAL 6-7 barefoot* who supposedly won't fumble the ball every time you pass it to him and should get the 3rd.

Hey, we passed on Slo-Mo Anderson once, you know [for CJ Wilcox]. ;-)

https://www.nbadraft.net/players/kobe-sanders/

Strengths: Sanders is a skilled, cerebral combo forward who excels in the halfcourt with a smooth pull-up game and strong decision-making … Measured 6’7” barefoot with a 6’8.25” wingspan and 8’7” standing reach at the 2025 NBA Draft Combine … His 36.0” max vertical is solid, though he doesn’t play above the rim … Sanders is a capable three-level scorer who thrives off the dribble, particularly in pick-and-roll and isolation settings … He has a fluid shooting stroke that extends to NBA range, hitting 34.2% from three and 79.5% from the line in 2024–25 … His ability to create space using contact and footwork stands out, compensating for average burst … Averaged 4.5 assists per game and facilitated for teammates in the role of point forward, with his passing making him intriguing in a “Slo-Mo” Kyle Anderson-type role … He protects the ball well, limiting turnovers and making smart decisions … Sanders is poised and composed, rarely rushed, and plays with a veteran’s feel for the game …

I'm also thinking something between Malcolm Brogdon and Amir Coffey. Hoping. Somebody who can give you NBA minutes without killing you out there.

Good post.. yeah Brogdon/Coffey combo is another good way to describe Sanders.

I have no knowledge or interest in NCAA ball. But this 2nd round guy looks better than our first. Auburn, Final Four. My Philly Eagles are drafting from WINNING programs.

https://www.inquirer.com/sixers/sixers-second-round-pick-johni-broome-reactions-20250627.html

What they’re saying about Sixers second-round pick Johni Broome: ‘He gets things done’

Last season, the 22-year-old averaged 18.6 points and 10.8 rebounds — earning Sporting News Player of the Year and SEC Player of the Year — before his career as a Tiger concluded after the program’s second Final Four appearance. Now, Broome is ready to begin his career with the Sixers.

“He was dominant in the Southeastern Conference,” said basketball analyst Jay Bilas after Broome was drafted. “In fact, he was the player of the year who led Auburn to the Final Four this last season.

“Shoots 66% at the rim, excellent on post-ups, and he’s fantastic on the offensive glass. … He may not be an above-the-rim big guy, but he carves out space and he gets things done. Really productive player that has been overlooked before and has come through.”

He produced at a massive level,” Levin said. “He was very, very close to winning national player of the year at Auburn … He rebounded the everloving [expletive] out of the ball on the defensive end and on the offensive end. He’s got a high feel for the game because he can pass. As a big man, he moves the ball really well and he’s, I would say, not a primary rim protector but as a weak-side shot blocker, really skilled at that as well.”

In terms of grading, NBC Sports, Bleacher Report, and USA Today gave the pick a B. Meanwhile, Yahoo Sports graded the pick with a B+.

Broome vs. Konan is an interesting question. I’m going to (again) link the CBS analysis of Konan, which notes something I believe is true. I think he’s better suited to the pro game. He’s a vertical spacer, he’s a work in progress. His athleticism and size will translate to the NBA, at a pretty high level. Everything else is more of a crapshoot, but he’s got a decent floor and a lot of upside.

https://youtu.be/FJZ1DGsZnjs

Broome is complete as a player. He’s got good (not great) size. He has very good skills. And he was much more productive last year than Konan—hell, he was SEC player of the year, first team All-American and won the Karl Malone award. But it’s going to much harder for him to use those skills in the NBA; there’s a reason why, with that resume, 34 teams passed on him. His combine results were (really) bad. He doesn’t have much in the way of lateral quickness or speed. He’ll be a drop back defender in the NBA as a below the rim 5 and pretty much can’t stay with 4s. I think he’s a good character guy that will work hard, but his athleticism really works against him in terms of upside, and hurts him to some degree in what he can give now or ever. I said this another thread, but Broome seems to me like a player who has maxed out as a college player. Makes me think a little of Jason Preston, who couldn’t have been a better guy and had some terrific skills … but just didn’t have the physical makeup to play in the NBA. Broome will be better than that. I just don’t know how much and have too many questions. I would’ve taken him in the 35-40 range. I think he’s a good pick where he landed.

Our summer league squad is pretty stacked. Should be fun! Jordan Miller got robbed of the MVP last year, so high expectations this year. Show the Clippers you deserve meaningful rotation minutes:

Jordan Miller doesn't have anything to prove in this level(Like Coffey way back). He's just gonna steal some lights out of Christie & Flowers.
2024-25 Clippers W/L Count against OKC, HOU, PHX, MIN (0-14)
2024-25 Clippers W/L Count against rest of NBA (43-18)

Jordan Miller is our x factor. 4 year contract at the minimum. If he can be a serviceable rotation player, that helps us immensely cap wise. He started off so hot last season and then fizzled out. He even got more PT and couldn’t produce the same as earlier in the season, so he’s got something to prove still.

If he was already in the rotation getting Coffey like minutes, then yes sit him out because he’s got nothing to prove, but the way he played in the middle of the season, this could be a make or break for him to get consistent rotational minutes. Looking forward to his plays

Also excited for Cam Christie and Patrick Baldwin Jr. Two very gifted shooters that could be future rotational player for us. PBJ could be a sleeper pick up.
