My main target in FA right now is Charles Bassey on a minimum contract. If we don't get him, I'd take Oscar Tshiebwe.

Two centers, a position that is notorious for taking years to develop... Nah.. they'll be in the running for ROY. No doubt.
I'm even a fan of both those picks but you're blind if you don't think it's going to be a few years before they show any real impact.
Its more a matter of draft day fever;
We have a tendency to get some drawn into very firm opinions on a bunch of guys who ultimately don't end up mattering in the long run.
This week its the draft, in three or four weeks it will be about which scrub we sign to fill out the back end of the roster with.

Thanks to Clutch0z24 for the Sig!

Isn't Maluach going to be fighting for PT with Sengun and Steven Adams anyway? I don't think he's going to be in position to look amazing this year anyway. Not that Adams is gonna chew minutes as a reserve obviously but he's still a contributor.
Duffman100 wrote:RJ for John Collin's likely makes little sense for Utah unless we send an asset for them to take on the extra year of contract?
Could you imagine if we snaked Collins from them, though? He has health issues, but he's an efficient high-teens scorer who rebounds reasonably well and can shoot. That wouldn't suck to have around at all.

James Wiseman or Day'Ron Sharpe.
My guesses for our back up 5 spot.

we already traded for Wiseman and instantly cut him, I don't think we have any interest in him or we would have taken a look at him then. And Sharpe is heading back to the Nets.

Minny is losing NAW, LAL are likely losing DFS, Detroit is unlikely to bring back Beasley and Denver needs guard help (especially since Russ is likely leaving). There should be a market for Ochai, you would think. A reliable swing-man that can consistently hit a corner three and is on a good contract seems like something we can leverage into a good asset. A back-up center is preferred, but something more fungible (e.g. picks) would also be good.

Ochai for Jaylen Wells and Jay Huff

I don’t understand wanting to trade Occhai. Just extend him as cheaply as you can. He’s exactly a player we need.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?
Please advise….

The pick was rerouted to Phoenix in the Durant deal.

Agreed, he's our best perimeter defender and can consistently hit 3s and is happy in his role or so it seems. Also, he has some potential as a movement shooter.

Milwaukee
PF Giannis - Portis
C Turner - Giannis
They need guards. Trade rights to Alijah Martin for Tyler Smith? Can now use the MLE to absorb salary in a trade. It would save Milwaukee more money and they could use a 2-way for Martin.
Gotta get Tyler Smith NOW before his stock goes up.

Is it too late to trade Agbaji for Christian Braun?
Yes, I really wanted to draft him and now he's shooting 58/40/82 at 15 ppg. People said he'd only be a role player but he's an elite one. I can see Carter Bryant becoming this good too but in a bigger body and better defense.

Jakobe > Agbaji
Offensively, I agree that Jakobe has more potential, specifically as a creator, but I don't think it's a given he is near as good of a defender and he's also smaller than Ochai. I do like how locked in Jakobe is and his effort defensively so he could be very good there also, he's just not there yet. I think I'd like to have them both personally, and as long as Jakobe is on his rookie contract for three more years we should be able to afford both. If Gradey or RJ were traded and those two were retained, as it were today, I'd be okay with that, but I think the best move is to go in to next season with the roster how it is, see how everything fits or doesn't, who takes next step and who stagnates before figuring this stuff out and do a midseason trade or trade next offseason.

Not sure if I believe in Agbaji's shooting numbers from last season but he's probably worth retaining for 3 years between 35-45M range if he's agreeable to the number. Would give Raptors a valuable salary filler piece for the team going forward that makes between 10-20M which the current Raps do not have.
Especially if Barrett's not going to be moved for two smaller contracts

RJ, easily
Grimes performed on a shamelessly tanking team without any of their stars
Besides that, fear the contract year
Everyone knows what RJs floor is. Grimes could easily go back to what he was at the tail end of NY or his time in Detroit.
