What Does Rob Pelinka Actually Do?

Serious question. AD came because of Bron and Luka fell on his lap. He has done absolutely nothing. How is this guy GM of the **** Lakers?

Rob is the one who got Nico to even consider trading Luka to the Lakers. He also cleared the cap hell Jim Buss left the Lakers in, which allowed the Lebron signing. He's drafted well and found talent gems like Austin. Lakers had won a title and been in the playoffs every season.

But yeh....what does he do.

Lebron signed in LA mainly due to Magic and then Rob backstabs Magic to take his job.

The Luka deal was initiated by Nico and not Pelinka. The "story" is that Nico went to the Wolves asking about Ant and then obviously the Lakers/AD. Rob just happened to be sitting in the right GM chair in LA and that was because of his relationship with Kobe and Jeannie Buss who ran the team like a Mom and Pop shop.

The Laker scouts are the ones who dug up Reaves and Christie types. If Rob is getting that credit he should take the fall for drafting the likes of Jalen Hood-Schifino and also making the Westbrook trade.

lol, no Magic is not why Lebron signed dude. And Rob is the one who brought up trading Luka to Nico months ago based on their previous relationship.

I love that all these other teams are imploding, and yet Rob is somehow a bad GM.

Well that was certainly the narrative about Magic.I have very little issues with pelinka as yeah he took advantage of what he should of and more than likely he was instrumental in getting Luka. He also didn't mozgov or Deng us into contracts. He probably also deserves a massive hand in keeping lebron from acting out like he did with the cavs on multiple occasions.

He is on the hot seat now with the new ambitious owners of the Lakers. If they don't make at least the Conference Finals next season, I am almost certain Pelinka will be given the pink slip.
