Yeah. Celtics take that one.

Houston does not.

Why would they? Jaylen is a top tier player, but can't see Houston offering up that package. The price is too steep. Take Thompson out of the equation, and they might go for it. Would we, though?

I would need thompson. Remove sengun. Rockets gonna be good. They are better off staying as is.

Worthwhile swing on Josh Minott -- really toolsy athletic wing -- stocks maestro 3.6 stocks per 36 last year
maybe a little bit of a space cadet though...

But I love the swing

(edit: any word on if yr 2 is a team option or guaranteed?)

We are cooking now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-Signed 2 development players

Looking beyond ‘26

I have no problem at all with what Brad Stevens is doing. Masterful!

This reminds me of the Celtics offseasons from 1994-2006 when they were consistently in the lottery.

Just saying…

The 2-ways are just penny-pinching. And sounds like they wanted to reroute Simons. Probably just no takers.
And Porzi was a pure money dump.

But yeah, seems like the sitch is just up Brad's alley.

Stevens needs to include Walsh as a filler in his next trade so the Celtics can sign Drew Peterson who is 2 times the player that Walsh is right now.

After signing Garza and Minott, the Celtics salary commitment sits at $208,155,950 according to spotrac.
To get under the tax line ($187.9) we need to shed over $20 million in commitment for this season.

I have no idea how they are going to do this?
Niang, can go into an exception, with nothing come back if we include draft capital
Simons doesn't seem to have any value
&
Sam Hauser can go into an exception with nothing come back

Of course, the reporting from Brian Robb and Adam Himmelsbach about the tax has not been definitive. The reports have said that the organization is interested in getting under the tax it doesn't say they are dead set on it. But I don't know how we get there unless we are going to pay draft picks for other teams to take bad money???

I hope they figure something out though that keeps our pick inventory stocked up.

I think we are more focused on 26/27 and beyond
Walsh may not pan out but his ceiling is much higher. Peterson isn’t going to anything to help significantly.

If they manage to get under the 1st apron, I believe, it opens up the Porzingis 22m+ TPE to use this time next year.

Here I was thinking Bronny James was the worst player in the NBA until I realized Josh Minott existed.

I love these free agent sightings. They saved two players from appearing on milk cartons. Have you seen this person?

These signings put the under in underwhelming..

Only if you expected fireworks from a team that started in the second apron.
The most charitable interpretation is that it's ethnic cleansing and massive war crimes.

TPEs are usually pointless but teams will be looking to get off money this time next year. Would be great to be able to help them.

Simons to DET makes the most sense for both teams...

We've got a half-dozen lottery tickets on the roster. We need one to pay off.

I’m not against taking flyers on guys but for a lot of people it seems like Brad is going to get praised for anything he does with no criticism at all. On paper this team might have the worst situation at both the 4 and 5. I hope to god there is another move or two coming.

I expect them to be a Lottery team but these additions, are still underwhelming, whatever options they had.

Return to Boston Celtics
