Not sure where DR is gonna get minutes…this was the depth chart before adding him:

SG - Ivey / LaVert / Lanier
SF - Ausar / Holland

Ausar probably getting minutes at the 4, but we need a legit back up 4

Even if he gets spit minutes at the 4…

That’s when Holland would be at the 3….right?

Robinson will get minutes over Holland in all likelihood.

Robinson fits a need more than Tech so it makes sense. Essentially, Levert replaced Schroder, Robinson replaced Beasley and Ivey replaced THJ.
I'd say sideways move, sizeable downgrade and potential big upgrade.

We are REALLY short on guys you can legit call a 4 or 5 now. Duren, Stew, Tobias, BBall Paul… Klintman? That’s def not enough.

Snakebites wrote:Between THJ and Beasley we need to replace 6.1 made threes per game.

We need to hope Ivey’s early shooting wasn’t a fluke and that Lavert shoots the ball well for us.

I’d be okay with Robinson- some will feel differently but flat out shooting is desperately needed.

Is all of that an upgrade? Not really. We need internal upgrades. Fingers crossed.

I consider Ivey an add and his shooting, although relatively small sample size, was drastically improved and better than THJ so THJ and Beasley out for Ivey and Robinson seems like a saw off if not slight improvement.

Nets already picked up Wilson’s option

Id speak with Bol Bol and Mo Wagner right now before we’re trying to hype up Precious Achiuwa or Alex Len

I get it’s not a desperate to fill need, but that’s just a sad group

I mean, I don’t mind the adds. Two dudes that played college ball nearby with legit NBA skills. But the prices seem maybe 25% high, and we really could use another quality big unless we think Ausar is actually gonna give 12-15 minutes a game there. I suppose he might, but seems risky.

Could we be going in on somebody like Markanen? Not really expecting much till Ivey shows he's healthy, but IF we parted with Tobias + 1 or 2 wings then we'd want the additional depth. Could even be pre-emptive in the sense we don't know exactly what we need it for, but expect to need it at some point for something!

I’m not wild about Robinson for more than Beasley was going to get.

But he does fill a clear need.

That’s kind of how I feel about our offseason. We weren’t holding very good cards but did our best to make lemonade from lemons.
