If There is a Time For Lebron To Demand a Trade, It Would be NOW

Post#1 » by Memories » Wed Jul 2, 2025 12:21 am

The Eastern Conference could not be ANYMORE WIDE OPEN. Celtics are punting for the year, Pacers won't have Haliburton, and Bucks are...weird.

Lebron demanding to go to a team like the Knicks or Cavs would give him a free ride to the Finals again like he always had with the Cavs/Heat, and the Lakers can finally get value with a position of need and build around Luka without the Lebron drama.

Knicks locker room and FO probably wants to get rid of KAT, and they have Mitchell Robinson, so they can easily just do a straight up Lebron for Kat trade. Not sure what the Cavs would do if they would entertain it, but I imagine those would be the two teams Lebron would want to go to.

No contender Lebron would play for is going to give up 50M in salary for Lebron maybe the LAC would but that trade would never happen

That's why I mentioned Lebron for Kat since they pretty much make the same money.

Who cares what Lebron wants. A team would have to give up two very good players salary wise to deal with the drama. Dude used to be worth it, not anymore though. Let him finish his career in the situation he created.

A team that moves heaven and earth for a soon to be 41 year old LeBron is absolutely insane.

At some point (maybe it has already happened), LeBron won't be able to contribute at a high enough level due to age and/or injury. For example- if the Lakers hadn't gotten eliminated, he would have missed her first playoff game ever because of the knee sprain he suffered. As the old saying goes, "father time is undefeated". If I were him, I'd deeply ponder how much longer I should play. For example, Paul Pierce played for at least two more seasons than he should have- he basically became unplayable. Doubt that would happen to LeBron, but you don't want your career to end like Willie Mays.

I'm actually surprised he hasn't vocalized this as I fully expected him to jump ship again.

It is risky for PR and his image though.
LeBron has a 17.8% field goal percentage and a 12.5% 3-point percentage in clutch situations, and also made 20 of 116 game winning/tying shots in 4th/OT during his career

You´re sure KAT is enough though, maybe we can make a package around Jalen Brunson  . Why on earth would we trade 29 year KAT that is under contract until 2027 and was our big aquisition last season for 40 year old Lebron on an expiring contract? And how are the Knicks competing with that team?

Especially you mentioning Mitchell Robinson makes me really wonder if this is a troll post. How about we trade instead constantly injured Mitchell Robinson 1:1 for Austin Reaves. Salary is almost similary and Lakers get a Center that apparently is equal to KAT.

You know there are LeBron haters out there with brains; you guys really do them a disservice.

Lebron has a no-trade clause. There is no trade he would accept where the Lakers don't get completely screwed.

He needs to suck it up and play for them. They drafted his son for God's sake

Like its harming him to just play another year in LA for $50m? He carried the franchise for 7 years up until they got Luka. Now he'll play 1-2 more seasons to pad his career numbers and make another $100m then call it a career.

I hope you don’t actually believe otherwise? Because yes, it’s not even close.

His best competition was a Paul George led Pacers team.
