My wording was such that the All-NBA restriction was only for chosen seasons, rather than players who never made All NBA in their career. This was a big point of confusion and contention so we restarted with the normal All-NBA restrictions

It’s up to drafters to know the rules as written. The draft should have just continued. Not your fault.

Part of the problem was that the draft thread had the rule worded differently from the OP in the discussion thread. The fact that the restriction applied only to the chosen season wasn't in the draft thread.

I thought it was in the draft thread but not the discussion? Doesn't matter either way, I'm glad we were able to resolve before going deeper in the draft

I say this not to bash anyone- I may have made the mistake too given how these restrictions are normally structured, but I think it’s healthy to have more than the same one or two people run these and that variations in the rules should be seen as okay too.

I think it’s not particularly healthy for this community for a drafter to feel they “messed up” just because the rules weren’t what people are used to. There should be multiple people wanting to run these with their own ideas and this sort of thing makes that less likely.

I appreciate your outlook Snake- my intention was to throw a curveball in our usual player valuations but I probably should have made that more clear. I'm just glad we were able to retain the original drafters (assuming db is still game)

If he’s not and you don’t want to be down a drafter I’ll take his place to keep it smooth. Hate to see something like this happen.

I do see Fade’s point but think varying the rules in these to keep people on their toes is healthy.

I'm just glad 8-9 dudes (I am making an assumption here, correct if I am wrong) can candidly agree to something in a timely manner on the internet, no hard feelings are had, and we all move on.

I don't mind the variation and was actually preparing to continue under the new rules, but the confusion between the two threads was an additional wrinkle.

I'm just gonna make the executive decision that we start over but before we do I'd like some clarity on why the existing rule is so problematic

My main issue was KG Kawhi dropped into the middle of 2nd round when they’re like the two best picks

Also I’m not a fan of the rule anyway as I think there would be a falloff in MVP talents with a prime non All NBA season somewhere

Might not be heavily loved but AK isnthe best asian category, imo, and makes a terrifying defense with MJ, Embiid and Himself. He can fill the pippen role a bit.
