I like that analysis MasterIchiro. Fix the big gaps with a trade Jeffie before it’s toooooo late.

Must say it has been an active front office.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

That's a very friendly deal if he is healthy.
Wow, this team is very deep 1-3. We really do need to ship some guys out though - KJ, NSJ, Green, Jeffries for sure maybe Okogie too.
We're a good big away from having the deepest team in Charlotte since 2015-16 maybe even the OG era. Hmmm
Maybe go time is now.......

BTW I’m happy to get Tre back!

Since they were working on this deal he must have know it was going down, so that’s why he’s added multiple guards on this team.

I’d almost swear he was constructing a surprise trade of Melo. Where does Sexton play? Is he a starter or a backup to Melo? But wait…Tre is the backup…right?

Guards rule the league, right?

I think Tre backs up Melo and Sexton (if he's not moved on to another team) will spell Kon. But the main value, to me, is situational flexibility. Melo and Kon for shooting, with Sexton and Mann providing rim pressure.

I think it makes most sense to couple the rim pressure with the shooting.

LaMelo - Sexton start.

Mann - Knueppel back up.

Knueppel should not be asked to learn NBA defense as a rookie vs. starting units.

I don't want to burn two rim attackers on one court. LaMelo and Kon balance them off ball much better.

LaMelo can always catch a breath while playing alongside any of them, really - Sexton, Mann, Kon.

Great balance of shot creation in all forms and all 4 guards can create their own shot or create for teammates.

Our offense with Miller and Miles should surprise.

Potentially the top 5 options are pretty dynamic.

I like your approach

I like the backcourt of

Ball/Sexton
Mann/Kon

On paper that looks like the most talent in the backcourt i can remember us having in a long time. We need to figure out alot more but backcourt looks solid.

Really happy to have Mann back on the contract he signed. I remember when we trade hayward to okc at first I didn't see Mann as apart of the deal and thought damn we should have got him. An hour later I saw we got him and was extremely happy. When I saw there was no thread for him I thought its on me. So here we up with my guy Tre I back for 3 years on a nice team friendly deal.

This is way to much for a guy that played 13 games last year. Good deal for Mann if he knows he is cooked.

New owners drinking their own coolaid. :nonono:

I'd claim that mantle any day. Mann is a baller. The Curry family loves his game. We forget he was closing games in the backcourt with LaMelo before he got injured.

Gone are the days of watching Isiah Wong, Elf Payton, Damian Baugh, random NPC G-Leaguer on my team 90% of the games. Actual guard and ball handler depth, really glad we got Tre back.

I definitely look at the back court surplus as LaMelo insurance. Gone are the days of waiting around for him to return when he gets hurt. He either figures out how to stay healthy or not but either way we’re moving on with or without him.

Yep, it shows that we aren’t tanking anymore too. Could also trade him if this doesn’t go well.

Makes good sense considering the injury and the harsh new CBA penalties. Glad they stuck by their word and paid him though. At least they don't need to rush him into big minutes off the bat coming off that type of injury.

team option makes the deal so much more valuable in trade scenarios down the road. great contract. low risk for only 2/16 if the back is still an issue.

my initial thought is that i dont love the redundancy of him and sexton

my second thought is that im rooting for the Hornets so theres no such thing as enough redundancy

reminds me of 2010 if we had Flip Murray and Larry Hughes at the same time

or maybe when we had Kemba/Lance/Mo Williams at the same time

Chapelchilla - “ Tanking - trying to lose as many games as possible to maximize lottery odds”

And Skeletor says “odds are odds”. That translates into “odds are the odds but we control it, so tank if you want but we’ll decide who gets the pie”.

Back to Tre, so glad the 3rd year is team option.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I like this signing. This will be a solid deal if Mann can stay healthy and play at a similar level to last year. If he continues to improve it will be a massive bargain.
