You don’t laugh when Austin Reaves might be traded.

You do if a rumored deal with Reaves involves the Celtics trading away the Finals MVP for him.

JB was all NBA second team 2 years ago, 4x all star, and finals mvp. Folks on here talking like Reaves is even half the player JB is are crazy, no matter the contract. JB is coming off a mediocre season last year for sure but some of you are talking like he's a bum.

Y’all just saw the Luka trade 5 months ago. Never underestimate Adam Silver. No wild, screw job Laker trade is out of the question.

I'd do it if the league gives us the #1 pick package that teams seem to get when teams agree to trade a star to the Lakers.

it will be s&t with Reaves new salary much higher than 13m he made last season; remember he turned down the 23m per year extension; i think his new salary will close the gap

Those are nice accolades. I'm still not convinced he has a big impact on the scoreboard.

Only reason Boston shouldn’t do it is if they can find an even better offer. Save tons of money, get a player who’s likely to be better going forward PLUS Rui and a first rounder? What’s not to like? This deal would set them up great to win a title in 26/27 when Tatum comes back.

You already got away with the Luka trade, now you want another fleece? Might as well trade Gabe Vincent and a pick for Tyler Herro.

Ugh. Worst thing about that Luka trade is we're going to see responses like this in every Lakers related thread, basically killing any intelligent discussion.

JB’s been declining 3 years in a row and even at his peak he was overrated. Reaves is still improving. He had a better WS/48 than Brown has ever had last year, and just for the individual season had a better PER, BPM, EPM, on/off, and xRAPM. He’s also among $40MM/year less.

Maybe for next season only JB would be more valuable to the Lakers than Reaves because they’re so desperate for wings that can play defense, but they just let Finney Smith who’s a better defender on 1/3 the contract walk for free so IDK why that’s a consideration. This deal would be a DISASTER for the Lakers.

 In no world will Reaves EVER be better than Jalyen Brown. We serious here?

The media really got some people convinced Reaves is anything other than average. His stats would be Aaron Wiggins like if the Lakers had any depth whatsoever.

The Lakers would be Nico level dumb to turn this down if it was even partly true.

Nope the Lakers would still need to add 17 Million in other contracts. So the 1st rounder seems a bit much, since the Celtics will receive 2 more Lakers superstars like Gabe Vincent, Maxi Kleber, or Jarred Vanderbilt.

I meant are they under the apron and can they do multiplayer trades. If they are above the apron it has to be a 1 for 1 trade

trade proposal sends Jaylen Brown to the Lakers for Reaves, Hachimura, one first-round pick, and two second-round picks.

Should Celtics do it? I know Lakers would do it.

Yes, that would also be the next issue. Both team would need to reduce their salary around 13-14 Million to even make a trade. You can actually check it with ESPN trade machine and it shows you that information as well.

https://www.espn.com/nba/trademachine

So overall both teams would need to cut salary and in case of the Lakers I don´t think they would even be able to match the salary of Brown with the players they would have left afterwards. Unless of course they get rid of Luca and Lebron.

Seems bad for Boston now until they get a top 5 pick and flip it for Giannis next off season(obviously with more added in). I'm only half serious but stranger things have happened in very recent memory..
