Rollins using the remaining room exception is a lock.imo

Kuz/31 for an actual wing is the only other upgrade out there. I’d keep calling Dumars until he accepts Kuz/31/32swap for Murphy.

He absolutely killed is at times not getting back on defense. He had his moments but overall he is an extremely overrated player. I still think our team is better off with Jrue than him. Seems like a great human being but I don’t believe he’s a leader or anything like that. Certainly didn’t help that he went to Milwaukee and the refs took away his grift move

Most importantly, our team is better with KPJ than Dame. Dame is the most selfish Buck since Monta. I'm so relieved that the clown who refused to throw lobs to Giannis has been cut

Kpj might never be as consistent as Dame, but he can at least beat his man effortlessly and play defense. The experience of watching him play was very refreshing. I look forward to 30+ minutes of him all season.

Jazz fan coming in peace. Loving the Turner trade. I have you guys as the surprise/darkhorse coming out of the east next season. Really don’t think it is that big of a gamble though considering Gianni’s just needs competent players around him in a depleted east to make it to the finals.

I came to ask a question to just Bucks fans to get your perspective. I was very confident the Jazz and Bucks were going to be trade partners. I really thought the Jazz would send Collins and Sexton for Dame and your 31st pick. It just seemed like the perfect fit. My suspicion is your front office would have done it and it was ours that didn’t do it to have cap space next season. I think the Jazz are stupid to have refused the offer if it was on the table considering I think we are now in year two of the actual rebuild.

That’s a long way of saying knowing what you know now (extending Dame) if that offer was discussed (and I know it had to be because our local radio announcer has a podcast and projects what the front office are thinking all the time) would you guys have taken that offer over extending Dame?

Yeah a 31 unprotected pick sucks to lose. But in a depleted east if you guys also had Collins and Sexton on your roster next season with the addition of Turner I think you would be clear favorites to win it. Maybe not the regular seasons as it takes a minute for teams to get use to playing each other. But both Turner and Collins space the floor and no one can stop Giannis with open driving lanes. And you would have had three large big guys who can defend and rebound on defense. Plus a great fire cracker in Sexton either starting or as the perfect sixth man.

I guess I am just pissed we both didn’t trade as a Jazz fan we need to collect assets, and I truly wanted to see Collins and Sexton next to Giannis and be successful on a winning team.

Anyways…that’s my rant. Wish you guys the best. Rooting for you to come out of the east even if we didn’t make the trade. Peace.

Yup. I don't see the Pelicans trading him now after they traded their pick for next year though

I don't think the Bucks would entertain any offer that nets them expiring contracts at the expense of their 31st, and I'm not even someone who thinks that pick has any kind of exceptional value.

Someone tell me why we aren't resigning Rollins. He was our only point of attack defender that had some capabilities on offense.
I would've loved to see a healthy Rollins next to KPJ. Let KPJ cook and Rollins has the D.

No one has said we're not resigning him. We had to pull the QO to fit in Turner. I don't know what the plan is but he can still be signed.

Yeah can’t really wrap my head around this. Hopefully it’s just for the sake of order of operations and he’s still back.

How about Kuzma and AJJ or TSmith for Collin Sexton?

You don’t have to pair another player with Kuz to trade him for Wiggins. You can save Miami $5M+ in salary this season and send them $7M+ in cash. Their owner is cheap. They might do Kuz/Cash/26swap for Wiggins

I will readily acknowledge that I am the furthest thing from a cap expert so I'm very open to you being right and me being wrong. But based on everything I've read about how, generally, restrictive this system is it seems like the Bucks being able to take back 130% in salary by just cutting a check would not be allowed.

Ignore the cash as part of the trade, that is sweetener like a pick, it doesn’t factor into salary matching. Kuz has unlikely incentives that increase his cap hit enough that you can trade him and be within 125% of Wiggins cap hit. So you can do it straight up. The cash is to talk Miami’s cheap owner into doing it because he’s pocketing that cash.

If you don’t believe me, run it through the Sportrac trade checker.

I think you are correct that the trade can be done straight up. I'm still skeptical that the Heat would make the trade solely to save some money. I think there has to be a basketball related reason to do it. Which could be the case, whether that's because Kuzma makes more sense in Bam at the 5 lineups or it gives them more flexibility next summer because Kuzma will be under contract rather than the uncertainty of Wiggins' PO. Obviously I hope I'm proven wrong, but I'm skeptical.

Edit: Given the Heat's track record of player development I could see them being interested in AJJ

I think Trey Murphy is a pipe dream unless we are getting a 3rd team involved and plan on giving up multiple 1st round picks and swaps fairly similar to what Jrue got.

Can’t say I’m too upset about the Dame news, as shocking as it is. I’m more surprised the FO had the cajones to do what they did.

I’ve got nothing against Dame but it just never worked out here and tbh never looked close to working out. I’m sure the reasons will eventually come out but Dame wasn’t giving his full effort here imo. Whether personal (divorce) or professional (didn’t wanna be here) he was pretty mediocre relative to expectations.

Weird Bucks team next year now.

Kooz?
Giannis
Turner

We’re really deficient at the guard creator type spot. Our offence is going to be gross.
