Drew Peterson is like an hour long 80s television drama, like an episode of Magnum PI or A-Team or Matlock... its kind of filler programming, it' gets the job done but after you watch it, it doesn't stay with you

31to6 wrote:It’s small potatoes, but one thing I don’t quite get is the love some have on this board for Drew Peterson. I mean, he might make the league, but he’s maybe 6th on our wing depth chart? JB, Sam, Baylor, Hugo, Minott, then Drew or Walsh or Max Shulga — it doesn’t seem to matter much.

I propose we use this as a wedge issue to irrevocably drive the board apart.

I'm just in love with the idea of loading up on prospects.

Simons is probably worth a 1 to someone who's desperate. Just gotta play the long game.

It’s def possible I just don’t see anywhere for him to go at this point in time. But I do prescribe to that idea in general on trades, value is pretty fluid since it’s based on what a buyer will be willing to pay.

And it is def looking like there is a prospect at the end of the rainbow this season, I’m not ruling out another big core piece trade still at all

Agreed. Bucks are the obvious, but that just flips the problem to who wants Kuzma and you dead end again. But, more moves will happen over the summer, someone gets hurt / suspended / traded, whatever, and a team has a need. Whether they wanna plug it with $27M of volume scoring, who knows? But teams do get desparate.

We’ve been calling him Rico since he was drafted. Someone said he looks like uncle Rico from Napoleon dynamite, can’t unsee it!

Props to whoever said it! Sorry I can’t recall at the moment.

Hauser and Simon are not prudent to the next 10 years...

Apparently Minott asked for his release from Minnesota to find a team where he can play more. So he's probably going to play for us.

So...ROLL OUT THE TANKS

Because he can maybe still have some gas left in the tank when we're back in a position to contend for a title again in 26-27 season.

So he could win 1 more title here and retire off into the sunset with 2 NCAA titles and 2 NBA titles.

I don't buy it. He'll be too old. Too much an injury risk.

The only way I'm even half interested is if he plays half seasons.

They aren’t winning anything without Brown or Tatum. They also could have all the salary cap in the world plus Tatum and White and they’ll struggle to get a FA even close to Jaylen Brown. They aren’t Miami NY or LA. They aren’t bad enough to tank.

I was thinking the same thing earlier today. Brown and White have played a lot of minutes/games the last 3 years, going deep into the playoffs.
Next season would be really nice to see them get a well deserved rest. Play maybe about 45-55 games each. Same for Pritchard. Sit each one out in different games most of the time due to whatever.

I rather just miss the playoffs next season and get in the lottery (10-14 pick), then be a 7th or 8th seed and get bounced in the 1st round.
Play a lot of Hugo, Baylor, Queta, Williams, Garza and Minott. Maybe some of Shulga. Let them get reps and experience for the following season.

I'm growing open to the tank with the idea that we could keep the guys we need for 26-27 (including JB/DW) and just play them so little that we end up in the lottery next season.

There's also value in not putting heavy or even medium miles on JB and DW next year.

Great minds..

As others have said, having a terrible defensive front court is a good way to lose a lot of games. Maybe not by a ton — but you lose them.

Brad is executing that plan with laser focus:)

Get ready to read up on prospects who might be available in the 10-14 range!

True. Why bother putting that extra wear and tear on JB, white and our other key guys? If we don't have a real shot at a title.

Less wear and tear and higher draft pick by avoiding the playoffs..

Might take a first round pick from both Celtics and Bucks and Danny still probably won't do it.

Yeah. We need to do a Dallas tank. Like, not losing is hopeless, but losing just enough to get a low lottery pick. Then it turns into AJ. Lol.
