lol.. our lone remaining good asset for Monk?

Also is DD Derozan? Do we really think the Kings would give us Derozan straight up for Kuzma?

As much as I want to get younger and better defenders, I would do that trade for no other reason that maybe Derozan can bring back a better return before the trade deadline during the season.

Kings are dumb, but I doubt they are that dumb.

I can’t imagine they roll with DS/MM/DD and Lavine. MM or DD will be moved. Bucks can save them some money by sending Kuz.

I would've loved to see a healthy Rollins next to KPJ. Let KPJ cook and Rollins has the D.

I expect him back. I think we still have his Early Bird rights.

Pretty sure pulling his QO means they lose his early bird rights, but they have room exception and having only used KPJ towards that. Which means up to $3.6M left to use for a first year salary for Rollins.

I’d expect a 1+1 for him starting at $3.6M. He gets a player option year two but if he opts out, Bucks have his bird rights next offseason.

I the past, other teams that didn't tender a QO still had Bird Rights, but this situation is different because we needed to open cap space.

The Wizardy of Jon Horst  I cannot recall a single GM in recent NBA history having a leash as long as Horst. Outside of him having some kompromat on Edens, it really is inexplicable he's still here.

I do think the last of 72 hours moved the Bucks from a probable 7th seed to more like a 4th or 5th seed. Outside of the Prince and Harris moves, which are minor negatives, I think Horst did very well (cleaning up after his own mistakes). Bonus points for poaching Turner from a hated rival.

As of right now, the season pretty much rides on whether or not KPJ's last month of this past season was a mirage. Wouldn't surprise me at all. I thought he had some awful minutes in the Pacers series and that last stretch of NBA regular season is hardly real basketball. I also think KPJ is much more likely to become the locker room malcontent that many painted Dame to be. He's very likely a bad dude.

If we're being generous let's just say 2020-21 Lopez and Jrue = 2025-26 Turner and KPJ. Horst now needs to go get his 20-21 Middleton. Not an easy feat, but I do think Reaves or Murphy can be that guy. Needs to get one of those 2 to make this team a title contender. Very tough task given how devoid we are of young talent.

Really don’t think it is that big of a gamble though considering Gianni’s just needs competent players around him in a depleted east to make it to the finals.

I came to ask a question to just Bucks fans to get your perspective. I was very confident the Jazz and Bucks were going to be trade partners. I really thought the Jazz would send Collins and Sexton for Dame and your 31st pick. It just seemed like the perfect fit. My suspicion is your front office would have done it and it was ours that didn’t do it to have cap space next season. I think the Jazz are stupid to have refused the offer if it was on the table considering I think we are now in year two of the actual rebuild.

That’s a long way of saying knowing what you know now (extending Dame) if that offer was discussed (and I know it had to be because our local radio announcer has a podcast and projects what the front office are thinking all the time) would you guys have taken that offer over extending Dame?

Yeah a 31 unprotected pick sucks to lose. But in a depleted east if you guys also had Collins and Sexton on your roster next season with the addition of Turner I think you would be clear favorites to win it. Maybe not the regular seasons as it takes a minute for teams to get use to playing each other. But both Turner and Collins space the floor and no one can stop Giannis with open driving lanes. And you would have had three large big guys who can defend and rebound on defense. Plus a great fire cracker in Sexton either starting or as the perfect sixth man.

I guess I am just pissed we both didn’t trade as a Jazz fan we need to collect assets, and I truly wanted to see Collins and Sexton next to Giannis and be successful on a winning team.

Anyways…that’s my rant. Wish you guys the best. Rooting for you to come out of the east even if we didn’t make the trade. Peace.

Just when I thought the preposterous Sexton/Collins trade proposals would finally die, some fan of a team that’s never won a title stops by to wax poetic about an awful trade the Bucks would never have entertained.

No one has said we're not resigning him. We had to pull the QO to fit in Turner. I don't know what the plan is but he can still be signed.
He's probably testing the waters now that he is a UFA.

Madden has the Bucks limited to giving him $3.3M this season. I believe they’d have his bird rights next season. Anyone else MIGHT give him more this season by a million or so but they will want to lock him up cheap long term.

Still think his best bet is betting on himself with backup minutes available with the Bucks and getting a better deal via bird rights next offseason.

Virtual Hi-Five for the Dame waive and stretch idea. :king:

Loved it when you first suggested it.

(Sorry, got to let J-Man take some bows here. He caught so much flack for that concept that after a day or two we never spoke of it again).

Yeah, I think they not only pulled his QO but had to release his cap hold to fit in Turner. So it’s the min or remaining room exception, if I understand this correctly. But he’d be full bird rights next season if he signs a 1+1 and opts out next offseason.

I get a feeling we are going to see if Beal or Jrue get bought out in the next day or two before any other moves happen. But I'm an idiot so take that as a grain of salt.

I wasn't the biggest Dame fan but the only reason it happened was because of the injury . Still credit goes to STJ, but this all stillcould back fire as well.Fingers crossed.

Shams won't give up

"I'm told Giannis Antetokounmpo will continue to evaluate everything—the entire offseason," said Shams Charania on Tuesday's NBA Today Free Agency Special. "He took notice of this move today, no doubt, but sources tell me he will evaluate more than just one day. At the end of the offseason, Giannis Antetokounmpo will ask himself—he'll look in the mirror and look around him and ask the question: 'Can I win a second championship with this team as currently constructed?'

"And the answer to that question faces and looms Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks, and Milwaukee."
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

i've never really bought into the media hating us thing.. until now.

what did they expect us to do? sit on our hands, burn another season of Giannis's best remaining years, and hope and pray that Dame could come back and be 90% of the already 85% of what he was in Portland? And maybe this season but probably next season? there was no other route to improving the team in any real way. Turner is a needle mover from where we were.

Everyone praised the nuggets for getting Cam Johnson for an unprotected '32 1st. Cam Johnson was rated the 75th best player in the nba by the Ringer. Guess who was 76th and we got him for zero assets? If we can cash in on our picks to get a top 50 guy, we have really set ourselves up for something. And that's without me fanboying the very real possibility that KPJ has a leap this year.

So quite honestly, **** them. We are going to surprise a lot of people this year I can already feel it.

Am i the only one that this comes off as Shams apparently likes to pretend hes having deep philosophical conversations with his "sources"?

The Shams/ESPN stuff is just boring at this point. I personally believe if Giannis didn't like the roster and wanted out we would know by now and would plan accordingly. I don't really like what the Bucks did today but there's no way we'd be doing it if Giannis wasn't in full agreement of it.

What's up with shams still puking out this dribble about giannis still waiting until the end of the offseason to make up his mind. Pretty sure Giannis already told him to shut his mouth. Will anyone ever hold these liars accountable?

Im pretty convinced that anyone that doesn't believe the media has an axe to grind against us is either a fan of a team that holds our picks or one that has hopes of landing him.

Everyone else? Gotta have blinders on not to see it

I was bored so I told ChatGPT to predict the 2026 NBA Playoffs and this was the results:

2026 Playoffs Bracket Prediction

Western Conference
1. Thunder vs. 8. Warriors
2. Nuggets vs. 7. Lakers
3. Rockets vs. 6. Timberwolves
4. Grizzlies vs. 5. Clippers

Thunder beat Warriors (experience + star power)

Nuggets take Lakers (depth vs. new chemistry)

Rockets edge Timberwolves (Durant & Capela)

Grizzlies upset Clippers (defensive grit)

West Semis:

Thunder def. Grizzlies

Nuggets def. Rockets

Western Finals: Thunder over Nuggets (SGA vs Jokic rematch, edge to OKC)

Eastern Conference
1. Bucks vs. 8. Celtics
2. Heat vs. 7. Kings
3. Pacers vs. 6. Nets
4. 76ers vs. 5. Hornets

Bucks over Celtics (Giannis & Turner chemistry)

Kings surprise Heat (Schröder improves offense)

Nets beat Pacers (MPJ+Cam Johnson)

76ers over Hornets (depth & experience)

East Semis:

Bucks def. 76ers

Nets def. Kings

Eastern Finals: Bucks over Nets

NBA Finals: Thunder vs. Bucks
Champion: Thunder in 6 games

SGA’s stability + OKC depth vs. Giannis + new Buck core

OKC’s chemistry gives them the edge in Game 7

I would be very happy with this, although not as happy as beating OKC in Game 7

If Giannis does go to a new team, 99% of NBA media wouldn't have anything to talk about. I guess they can move on to Jokic but would they?
