Yep but somehow the Bucks are worse because Dame will be in the books three years from now for $22.5M.
If Lakers made these moves it would be hailed as an all time great offseason to do all this when they were a second apron team at the trade deadline.

And the Pistons were one of two teams with cap space and they spent it on Duncan Robinson…

That cap space just burning holes in their pockets.

All these hours later and I still can't wrap my head around what the Pistons are doing with the signing of Robinson. I know that they need some shooting, and there are serious questions around Malik Beasley, but that deal just seems like a massive overpay to me. Are there any teams out there that would even have offered half of what he got from the Pistons?
Go Bucks!

I think the JJJ deal is the one we’ll be shaking our heads at before it’s over. Good player. Massively overrated.

Agreed. Years of evidence that he can't rebound or stay out of foul trouble. Plus, that shot ugly.

Sometimes there's a sense of relief when stuff like this gets exposed. He can stop digging. His career is done but hopefully the legal stuff gets sorted out and he can lead a happy life the rest of the way.
Idk, he had millions in debt but that at least initially would've wiped the debt clean. He had a way out. Usually the relief comes when someone doesn't have a viable exit ramp.
He now is broke and faces federal criminal charges. I don't think he will have a happy life.
Reminds me of a night in LV. I was just playing some normal blackjack. Guy next to me is life of the party, talkative and nicest guy. Would play roulette spins while playing BJ at the same time and was playing for some serious piles of money, in true degen gambler style. It was Javaris Crittenden while out on bail for the murder stuff. Having as much fun as he could before going to prison. He never said who he was or bragged, I just happen to see his license when they IDd him.

Yea makes no sense. And they let Tim Hardaway go who signed for vet min I believe. I'd rather have Robinson a the 3/48 than Robinson, let along if I could get Hardaway for 1/7 or 2/15 or even less.

JJJ is a very good player. But I find it amazing how the pundits haven't touched that one. Instead they all want to talk about "Myles Turner's best days are behind him"
I think the two are pretty similar players at the moment. And our guy got a contract 40% of the other guy.

I think you're absolutely correct here.
I'm also personally not a fan of the Jabari Smith contract; I get increasing salary cap and he's young and all, but it's entirely possible he gets marginalized by the guys they've brought in this offseason and I don't think he was worth nearly that kind of money up to now so you need him to show improvement and become more impactful to live up to it. I was listening to a pod the other day that was basically saying "You're telling me I can have someone like Anthony Davis for $60 million or Jabari Smith for $25 million? It's a no-brainer." and I don't really get that at all.
I like him as a prospect but it feels like there would have been zero downside to waiting to extend him IMO.

Feels like LeBron to the Knicks is starting to pick up some steam (or the media has just found their new story they can milk for awhile, could go either way).

I think the Jabari Smith contract is worse. JJJ has at least done something.

Well, maybe there is some proof that other teams were willing...maybe its the contract he signed
It always bugs me when national media types say stuff like "i cant believe they gave up the first unprotected. The other team absolutely would have taken it top 3 protected."
You dont think the team trading away the first tried that? Its like they assume the gms are all 5 year olds.
Bringing it back to the original topic. I think the proof is in the pudding, guy. Hes 6'7-6'8, can get his shot off very easily and moves well and shoots on the move well. Hes a better Beasley tbh.

People laughing at Memphis giving JJJ so much money and I understand their POV. However, this is the problem with having guys that are stars but not superstars. This is why you do everything to keep a player like Giannis.

That was us with Michael Redd, I think. All-star, good guy, just not a superstar.
