CP3 is completely washed, right?

Yes and no.

Is he who he was even 2 years back? No.
Can he still help a team like ours who currently does not have a servicable backup pg? Yes.

Especially to calm things down if our first option in KPJr is not working.
For the minimum, he'd help tremendously and as washed as he is, might literally be the best pure point guard Giannis would have ever played with(which is kinda sad).

Maybe not $40M, but $30M easily in my opinion. Hell, Hartenstein is getting $29M right now.

Great point that Turner is making less than Hartenstein. Turner’s like the 80th highest paid player in the league. Poeltl has a higher AAV. I’m not certain how this isn’t viewed league wide as a steal. It’s like getting 2019 Brook but with more switchability.

They had to pull Rollins QO and release his cap hold to sign Turner, so only paths to keep Rollins are a min salary deal or use the remaining $3.3M from the room.

Pay C deal was to open up just enough space to sign Turner.

At this point the only big move possible is Kuz with AJJ and 31 1st/32 swap as sweeteners to trade for someone. Otherwise, it’s only vet mins.

Our biggest weakness right now is at sf with Kuzma... Trade him away along with some picks/pick swaps and pick one of WIggins, MPJr, DeRozan, maybe Keegan or Murphy?

Top 10 center in the league and top 3 best fitting with Giannis I think, when you consider both offense and defense.

I'm guessing the Bucks need to find an expiring for Kuzma that's suitable for Miami. The entire reason Miami wants to move Wiggins is to clean their books for 2026. Miami doesn't want to get stuck in a situation like we got into with the Dame injury.

I keep coming back to Hachimura. Lakers have always had interest in Kuzma. Hachimura would be useful expiring for Miami

With that said I’d guess Kuzma is way more motivated now than he was with wizards and puttin in the work this off-season to have a better year this season

Whenever something like this happens, the knives eventually come out from both sides since the player is no longer with the team. We’re going to get more stories regarding Dame coming out in the days ahead.

Just another sign that Dame was never 100% bought in here. Glad he's gone.

My two cents re: some of the takes that this was stupid on the Bucks' part:

1. If the disaster situation of Giannis requesting a trade occurs and we have to blow the team up, I don't really care about having the dead cap for the first few years of a rebuild. It hinders us from the sense of being able to take on other team's bad contracts for assets, but otherwise, doesn't really matter IMO.

2. Taking on the dead cap inherently makes our future draft picks even more valuable because GMs will even more so want to bet on us being crap in the future, so not only were we able to preserve our assets by signing him with cap space, but we also made our assets stronger.

3. We had pretty much zero chance of making a legitimate playoff run/contending before, and while it's still a long shot now, there's an actual path by way of adding Turner and potentially adding another significant difference maker with those future picks.

This feels to me like an absolute miracle of a move and I can't believe there are idiots out there that are trying to convince people it was stupid.

On NBA Radio this afternoon, Suns TV Analyst said that after the move to waive Lillard and sign Turner that he "guarantees that Giannis will be out of Milwaukee by February".

The program hosts Justin Termine and Amin El Hassen could not understand what the Bucks were doing with those moves. Most of their angst was over ruining the team's future by adding $22.5-mil in dead money every year for the next half-decade.

Let’s say they are right. You pull the trigger with the Spurs and take back Harper, Castle, Sochan and picks. You have Turner locked down for 3.5 years and can get multiple picks out of him. All the other guys expire a year or two from now. Still not in. A bad position to reset. And if you are resetting, the Dame stretch years aren’t an issue.

My major worry is that we have 90% of our salary capacity with Giannis these next few years as we carry Dame’s dead weight.
