Desperate move from the Bucks, but I kind of understand!

Schroeder's 3/45 contract with the Kings means that the Heat did not overpay Davion IMO

Grief, wish they would do away with this gambling nonsense— but capitalism

Denver suddenly became deep. Have the tools now to beat OKC next year.

I’m excited to see a Kasper-Mitchell backcourt. I think they both have a great work ethic and will put that time in the gym while Herro is on a yacht.

Is that fair to Herro? Genuine question - I thought he was a gym rat hooper? There was plenty of added muscle and strength, as well as an evolution in his offensive game. I don't know if it is for lack of effort that he can't defend, but maybe I am being too kind.

So little overlap in their skillsets. Both complement each other very well. I guess one of the few common traits is how hard they play. The Jakucionis-Boswell duo in Illinois was actually quite similar stylistically.

I just remember in the 2024 offseason, Pat Riley called him out for being fragile. Last season was an improvement, but since the shortened 2020 season he has played on average 62 games. If he plays then great, if not there’s guys waiting for the chance.

One thing that I remember, that always stuck out to me, was Shane Heal, our little Aussie PG who played for Minnesota Timberwolves nearly 30 years ago (oh god, I am old). He mentioned that during the season, as a shooter, he couldn't run or lift as much because it would mess with his shot. So in the offseason he would lift and bulk up, and as the season went on with all the running and drills, you lose some of that bulk, muscle and strength and can't get it back. I am probably paraphrasing a lot there, but that general sentiment stuck with me.

Do shooters build up strength before the season, then eat away at it through the season and 'use it up'.

Especially someone like Herro that was looking strong as hell in the first half of the season, taking knocks, getting to the line and finishing, and shooting 3's at a high rate (40.8% in his first 38 games on 3.9/9.6, 33.9% after on 2.7/7.8) and being generally efficient everywhere, then seemingly like the back half of his season being more like the inefficient Herro we know.

Is this why in the playoffs, that phenomenon of not relying on three point shooters (live by the three, die by the three) happens, as shooters wear out?

Or am I overthinking it, did Herro just get schemed for after taking people by surprise and does three point shooting drop off in the playoffs because bad teams that can't defend it are out?

But I've forever had it in my head that scrawny shooters wear out, and prioritise maintaining day to day performance over trying to simultaneously maintain bulk at the expense of it in season.

The Unc squad could be pretty good, with some health and a little bench help

Yes, but the thing is, don't think neither of them is an offensive juggernaut... I hope i'm wrong Because this team desperately needs some and we all know spo Is not an offensive mastermind either, so...

This Heat team as is will not win a championship.
There are many moves to go to even make this team a contender. Let’s be real here. Heat aren’t going anywhere next season.

I know it’s only been one summer league game, but god, we really cant seem gain anything in this conference at the moment. Stuck in the mud.

You already know the up and coming teams in Cleveland, New Yrok, Detroit, Orlando..

You know that Indiana and the Celtics will have a down year but when Haliburton and Tatum are back, theyll be in the mix again.

Then you see Edgecombe today, the sixers are a team we had them completely cooked for the next five years before they drafted that guy, and just the skillset he showed today, if it translates into real competition and he plays that way all the time, the sixers will be on the way up again too.. even if embiid and pg are not in their future, their future is bright with VJ.

his skillset while still raw, is on that potential superstar path. Which is more than what the Heat has to offer as a whole at the moment.

It's almost like high lottery picks are helpful in team building

Don’t be a conspiracy theorist! Gotta pick in the teens/early 20s or don’t pick at all.

He would've been good for the league. Him and Ben Simmons are such bizarre cases
