How many games at the UC do you attend a year? how does this team constantly lead in attendance?
Part 1: how many games do you attend at the United Center per year? I typically would go 1-2 games per year. I always have a great time at the United Center. Love watching games there. It's also only a 15 minute ride on the 50 bus for me, so super easy to get to.
I didn't go to any this past season however, which is really a shame because I love going there. I'm finally fed up with supporting Reinsdorf. I feel there's no incentive to improve when the team constantly is at the top in attendance.
Why the hell do people still go so often? The Bulls lead the league in attendance basically every single year. Maybe some of that is a function of the stadium size I don't know. The legacy of the 90s Bulls resulted in the team selling out no matter how bad they are. Even though MJ wants nothing to do with this organization or city, the popularity from him lives on. Tickets are expensive as **** too. With the future development planned around the stadium I'm sure it will sell out even more, although that's a long ways away. Jerry won't be around by then.
It's just crazy to me that the Bulls will lead the league in attendance no matter what. The Bulls have inherited the "lovable losers" moniker from the Cubs, except the organization isn't loveable at all. People will attend gams even if we boo Krauses widow while fielding garbage ass teams.

I've gone to exactly one Bulls game at the United Center, so don't blame me.

I have 3-4 skybox games a year for work (same with the hawks) so that is most of what I attend. My son likes going to a game with me each year too so our accountant has good season tickets and I usually buy a game from her.

Ha, this topic never goes away.
1) The Bulls have the biggest stadium
2) There are lots of corporate seats
3) There isn't a lot to do in the winter in Chicago
4) "Boycott the Bulls because we hate Reinsdorf" is not a thing normal people care about
5) Lots of people have kids who want to go and/or they want to expose their kids to basketball
6) It's fun
7) Chicago is the biggest market in the NBA that only has 1 NBA team
8) Chicago is a pretty basketball-interested market as opposed to some other NBA markets where people don't care much about basketball
I'm probably missing stuff, but I don't think it's any real mystery.

Non local.
Only been to one game, but the Bulls had the best fan and arena experience of any NBA, NFL or MLB game I've been to. It feels special. Outside of the Jordan/historical factor, I completely understand why fans pack the United Center consistently. I'm sure it's also a hot spot for corporations. It's essentially a really well done tourist attraction. If I had kids and lived there, I'd especially want to go to more games.
I'd imagine that a significant portion of attendance are made of casuals, tourists, and people who don't care much about wins and losses.

I think a very meaningful % of tix are corporate.
As an aside, I fondly remember that I was working for a company that had front row floor tix under the basket during the less than exciting baby Bulls era. Because they sucked, I must have scored the tix 10 times. It was pretty fun. Esp because the luv-a-bulls sat right in front of me too.

Before Jordan came the Bulls had probably the worst attendance in the league. At that time Chicago was still a big market team and the winters were the same (probably less to do back then) Did corporations not buy into getting tickets back then? Are people loyal to the Bulls because of the Jordan legacy still?

I've probably seen the Bulls play live 20 times or so. I've been to the UC once. The vast majority of those games were in SA and I don't mind giving RC Buford my money.

Re: How many games at the UC do you attend a year? how does this team constantly lead in attendance?
0 and probably kids/population of the city.
When I was young, I saw the 96 Bulls live six times.
I went right before we acquired Lavine and saw Wolves/Bulls. My friend and I, both bulls fans, couldn’t stand it. It seemed like a lot of fake generated excitement, not the atmosphere it would have been back in the day. It’s an entertainment, money making industry more than it is a sport now IMO. While this has always been true, there used to be more value placed on the game itself.

There’s probably some causation and some correlation there. Some of it is the Bulls owner before Reinsdorf wasn’t invested in the team and didn’t even have ticket salespeople.

I was at the UC 3 times at the beginning of Kirk's rookie season, when we were on vacation in Chicago.
They lost all three games and won an away game we watched at a pub.

I've refused to go to a game since about 2016. If they had a team worth supporting i'd go to 1-2 games a year maybe. During the Rose years went 4-5 per year, Baby Bulls era i was at like 2-3 per year. Early 00s even went to to 1-2 per year.

The other big one you are missing:
9) when they are short tickets, they give a ton to charity and they count as paid attendance whether people show up or not.

When I lived in Chicago I probably got tickets from some source 2 or 3 times a year. Since I moved away almost 20 years ago I've been to zero NBA games.

Re: How many games at the UC do you attend a year? how does this team constantly lead in attendance?
According to my brother who still lives in Crook County there are a lot of wealthy/semi-wealthy people that have season tickets that only go to the marquee games. Then they give away their tickets to the other games or let them stay vacant. He gets tickets that way from ex Mercantile Exchange guys with fat bank accounts. It's not a big dent in their wallets and they retain their favorable seat locations just in case the Bulls get good again.

I guess there’s no option for 0-1 games.
I live out of state now but like to go to a game with my family when I get a chance to make it back. The Bulls don’t get away with being cheap because of the 0-1 games I attend a year, and if I didn’t have that ticket, someone else would.

I wonder if the season ticket holders on here are afraid to vote, lol. I can’t imagine that there aren’t any season ticket holders on a Bulls Forum.

Re: How many games at the UC do you attend a year? how does this team constantly lead in attendance?
I voted 1 to 2 per year. Though if we were a title team and the tickets were the same price it probably wouldn't change that. Just after 400 or so games iny life it has been enough.
I do the 1 to 2 primarily because someone I know wants to go and harasses me into it a few times a year.

Re: How many games at the UC do you attend a year? how does this team constantly lead in attendance?
I've only been to roughly 8 games ever, and only one in the 11 years I've lived in the area I think. I find them really fun and they won most of the games I've been to, so I didn't want to push my luck. The prospect of spending hundreds of dollars to go to a game that my team would usually have about a 50% chance of losing is not appealing to me. So it's mostly that sports in general is not really worth the cost for me for individual games. If I spend hundreds of dollars on entertainment for a few hours I want to be pleased no matter what, so I'd be more likely to do concerts or other stuff which I also do rarely.

I don't watch games anymore or attend. If they win five games in a row I will watch. I really like to see new ownership but would accept firing AKME. It is clear to me this management group won't win consistently.
