Weird to not have Braun on that graphic.

I mean the depth issue was just fixed so…logically you wouldn’t?

You’re in the extreme minority if you think the Nuggets didn’t have depth issues for the last two years.

I mean...is Tim Hardaway a viable player? He was trash with the Mavs and Luka. He can shoot but can he defend enough to get minutes in the playoffs? Though I guess new coach...maybe he'll find minutes even with bad defense (is bad too nice?).

If and big if. If Christian Braun and/or Julian Strawther make a nice leap...which is possible. They could be better. Or I'm a crazy guy expecting too much. But it's not impossible!

They've signed a bunch of JAGs, let's not go overboard here. Bruce Brown has sucked since he left Denver, Val is a slow footed non spacing big man, and Cam Johnson and MPJ aren't that dissimilar as players.

It will come down to Jokic and if he's good enough. He wasn't good enough last year in the playoffs to carry them.

I don't think you understand how depth works. Did you not watch the 2 teams in the NBA finals including the MVP of the league. SGA doesn't win game 7 if his team doesn't step up and Hali is injured, the way he played.

But not everyone can be objective so I understand.

Keep that same energy come playoffs. :D

They'll blame everyone again so why expect anything different. Jokic is the only player in the game who takes 100% of the credit and none of the blame.

Nuggets pushing OKC to 7? All Jokic.
Nuggets flaming out year after year? Team game. Jokic can't do it alone.

What was the Lakers excuse for not making the finals, I mean the conference finals, I mean the second round last year?

Many posters including yourself had them going far in the playoffs. I'm guessing it's all on Luka and Lebron that they couldnt get out of the first round.

Heck, Lebron hasn't been able to beat the "overrated" Nuggets in the past several years. What were the excuses for Lebron.

I'm seriously curious since the only person who you says has excuses made for him is Jokic who takes on a bigger workload in the playoffs than any other player.

Last season the Nuggets had depth issue in playoff because role player like Julian Strawther could shoot but couldn't play defense. Watson could play defense but no one care about his offense. THJ is a role player who, although defense is bad, could provide some minutes. I doubt they expect a lot from him. They just want someone who could eat some minutes without being a total disaster. The bar is very low.

These are garbage bin signings for the nuggets. If they’re excited about this representing depth, the league is laughing hard

They were playing Deandre Jordan and Zeke Nnaji and Jalen Pickett against the Thunder off their bench. One would have to dive particularly low in the dumpster to exhume “talent” like that. And they STILL took OKC to 7.

I’m not saying guys like Brown and Jonas and Timmy are saviors, but in terms of “trash” they’re a wrapped eclair at the top of the bin in contrast to what they had last year.

Hopefully, we get this version. But RAPM based metrics show he was like the worst defender in basketball last year. And year to year he seems to fall into fairly ok there and pretty bad. Which tells us that he's very situational on defense. If the Nuggets can get all that to work, great. The problem is the Nuggets outside defenders are by and large pretty bad. I haven't watched a lot of Cam so hopefully he's an improvement to MPJ out there.

Please tell me what you want more Jokic to do. Putting up a nearly 30/10/10 every season with the supporting cast of westbrick off the bench. 2 starters injured in the playoffs. It's a remarkable that he pushed OKC to 7.

Jokic has the biggest carry job in the entire NBA.

Great players don't get excuses.

Imagine feeling sorry for LeBron in his prime because his team came up short of a championship.

This feeling sorry for Jokic stuff is getting tired. If you feel sorry for him then he needs to leave and find a better winning situation.

So it's Joker's fault his teammates can't make a wide open 3 when he''s getting double-teamed? OKC is the better team overall, to say this series is Joker's fault is crazy work.

yeah let's blame Lebron for losing 2017 and 2018. He should've done better against GSW.

See how insane that sounds?

37% 3PT shooter on 5 attempts/per, but that number skyrockets to 63% (!!) on spot-up 3’s. That is elite.

Adds much-needed depth to their bench. Great signing.

They still have all the young guys, they actually didn't pivot form the previous strategy:
Russ->Bruce
Saric->Valanciunas
MPj->Cam
Vlatko->THj
they just improved (on paper) on the vets spots they already have

Jokic fanboys (myself included) often lament two seperate issues. 1.) having a #2 and #3 who are clearly and substantially weaker then the secondary options of the top contenders, aka - "the only MVP that has never played with another all-star", and 2.) A ridicilous bench and pathetic depth

Their bench and depth are now massively upgraded, so you won't hear those thrown around next season

As for their 2-3 situation, not like they have an elite number 2 or 3. Cam has potential imo, maybe he'll get an all-star nod, who knows?

I'm personally fine with mentality if it's consistent. But I do think that over simplifies the conversation because context matters.
