Pistons are maybe better with their continued growth depending on how they deal with the beasley situation
Philly if Embiid is healthy is better

Philly is awful. PG is cooked. Embiid is close to it. But the Raptors? Seriously?

Will not happen. They can have interest all they want, Lillard doesn’t want to play here. He’s close with Tatum and still doesn’t have interest. It’s probably either Miami or LAL

Didn't Dame say he didn't want to play in Boston? Regardless he is going to Miami

That is a top 4 EC team. If Tatum's rehab goes well, we could easily make a run next year. I really don't see any downside to signing Big Al.

Maybe no downside to us. But the downside to Al is that this might be his last season of his career so he probably wants to end it with a ring.

Despite your optimism, we're not winning a title next year. The focus is on trimming payroll, ducking the 2nd apron, having a roster reset..slowly rehabbing Tatum and putting ourselves in position to contend for a title again in 26-27.

Also, because of our financial situation, we can only offer Al the minimum..another team may offer him a bit more $ than that..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I could see the Lakers because it would give him more exposure for his music career and would give him access to other avenues other than basketball. Boston has no appeal to him. If he didn’t want to come here when the Celtics literally would have been the title favorite with him then why would he ever choose cold snowy Boston in the winter when he can party with instagram models in Miami and go to pool parties in November.

yeah but where does Al go to win a ring? I would argue that we have a better chance than GS or the Lakers simply because the EC is so weak and the WC is loaded.

Also, Brad could tell Al if it looks like Tatum isn't going to return based on how the rehab goes that he will move him to a contender midseason.

and as far as trimming payroll, you can still do that during the season depending on how things go. Signing Al doesn't preclude you from trimming payroll. I mean aren't we technically over the second apron right now?

I would like Lillard to sign with the Celtics. Adding Lillard and their Lottery Pick in the off-season would be a strong talent infusion. Now, he's probably heading to Miami and his IG Honeys, but it would be nice if Tatum could actually recruit a quality player or two ...

If you can get him cheaply, I would LOVE that move honestly.

Helps the tank this season, and next year I admit I do really like a lineup of

Lillard
White
Brown
Tatum

PP's chin just dropped into his Wheaties.

But are the C's now trying to get PR credits for being "interested" in decent players?

There DO seem to be more leaks than in year's past.

Yes they are.

Toronto needs a pg upgrade, imo, but this offseason they are adding a dope young kid in CMB, Get Ingram back, Poetl stayed.

Quickly/Shead
Barrett/Dick
Ingram/Aqbaji
Barnes/CMB
Poeltl/Mogbo

That team is long, young, athletic and should play very free and well together,. They are going to make a Magic type jump this season.

Hawks got a TON better this offseason. Made some great moves.

Trae/NAW
Daniels/Kennard
Risacher/VIT
Johnson/Newell
Kristaps/Okongwu

Celticvs might well have the higher individual talent with Brown, but those 2 teams are superior to Boston in Depth, Fit, and overall talent level.

People said the same thing last season when I said Orlando and Indiana were going to be damn good teams this past season.

Surprised to hear any talk of Lillard. I think his career is over. I doubt anyone would invest in his rehab like KD. Doubt he signs anywhere until next summer.

Ingram bounces around because he’s an empty stat forward. Watch the games in New Orleans and LA. That Poetil contract is going to be bad. Quickly sucks. Barnes has a nice ceiling he hasn’t hit yet. Most people have the Raptors close to the bottom of the East so I’m not sure what you’re seeing there. The “kids” will take a couple of years to develop as well.

Trae is an empty stat guy as well. NAW has been a darling on here for years but he’s made quite a few stops around the league. Obviously KP if healthy is good too. I don’t put either of them over Boston.

Cavs Knicks Orlando and Detroit if you want to say those teams are better than Boston without Tatum you’ll get no argument from me. But throwing the Raptors above them is just…I don’t know. You might as well be putting the Wizards ahead of them too because they have some good young potential guys.

I honestly think you’re trying too hard to craft a slow playing argument that the Celtics are the worst team in the east and can tank for a top 3 pick. That’s not reality though.

That team is perilously thin of big men. They should have been looking at a guy like Looney who would have shored up a lot of their rebounding issues. It’s just hard to win when your top 4 players are all guards.
