Lebron is either going to Cleveland or NYK via a buy out IMO. Dude wants one last shot at the title before he goes out.

As a 9th-10th man who you may have to bench in the playoffs it's a no brainer for us IMO.
You just have to be mindful of who he's out on the floor with because he's almost a zero offensively at this point.
But a potential
Brunson/Deuce/OG/Simmons/KAT lineup would be fun for 5 minutes a night.

As it stands, we can't sign anyone with more than 1 year of experience in the league, even for the vet minimum at that level.
So unless we make trades, Kevin McCullar is our next signing.
I think the next domino to fall is the Mikal/Mitch extensions...the FO has never let a player go into there final year of there deal.
They either will extend or we should look out for a trade.
With the signings of Clarkson and Yabu, The Knicks did a good job covering themselves if they feel the need to make a consolidation trade with Mikal and Mitch. We have way more depth than we did going into last season. And hopefully a coach who will be more willing to mix and match with our lineups.
There are some interesting targets in that 30-40 million range if you combine Mikal and Mitch in a trade...
really? I have been looking in that mid 30's to 40 million range and I actually don't see a lot of targets I would trade for. Its why it made Mikal low 20's salary so valuable because not many good players make in that range.

Money would be on CLE but, why would the Lakers buy him out? Do they own their own pick this year? Tank move?

Clutch threats and doing LeBron a solid (LeBron would leave some money on the table).

Bam would be interesting.
Franz a little less so because I just think he can't shoot but I think he's a better defender than Mikal at this point.
You also can combine more salaries with Mikal and Mitch both in a trade.
So something like
Trey Murphy and Herb Jones works.
Point being there's plenty of optionality if you combine them both as opposed to just trading Mikal or Mitch.

Brunson | Clarkson | Kolek
Bridges | Deuce | Dink (2-Way)
Hart | Dadiet | McCullar

KAT | Mitch | Huk | Nnaji (2-Way)
I’m good with that. Solid 1-9 with a lot of high upside guys that can get a chance to play if the coach goes deep enough like Kerr, Dag, and Carlisle do throughout the season.
Hopefully Deuce ends up starting over Hart tho..
I don't think Hart starts anymore, it'll be Mitch.
Hukporti is going to get a shot as the backup C, and Yabusele can play the 4 or 5.

We aren't getting any of these players

Nobody is trading players who are locked into multi year deals for a guy that needs an extension and can walk. Nevermind the fact that Franz, Bam, Trey all have more value than Mikal.

Meh. I've had enough LeBron talk to last a lifetime. I don't even know why I asked actually.

they aint gonna give him 50 mill in a buyout. what's the most he could get ? half that ? i'm not even sure they'll do that because he could have just walked. i would feel a way.

Barring any late trades, I think you and Spree8 pretty much have it down. I just can't find the name for the position of head coach, but we all have our suspicions.

So we could watch Hack a Mitch and Hack a Ben10. What a great show, but wouldn't be offered in the 4th quarter.

Meh. I've had enough LeBron talk to last a lifetime. I don't even know why I asked actually. The Princess has been catered to his entire career by the league. I hope the Lakers don't kiss his ass. He would put CLE at the top of the East if he went back home for one more season. If the Lakers buy him out this will be a problem.
Realistically, if he can maintain the level he was at last year, adding him to this roster whether buyout or trade (KAT), would guarantee us a spot in the finals.
But, the window is next year if he's traded to us, that's it, next year would have to be the title shot, all in and knowing there's nothing after. If he's bought out, we'd be the favorites next year and can maintain without him when he retires.

I don't see Franz or Bam being available in a trade. Something along the lines of Murphy type deal would probably be more accurate Joe Dumars is a dummy so you never know.
I was thinking the rockets desperately could use a 2/3 and are pretty stocked at the 3/4 now with Durant there.
https://imgur.com/FQeIMPZ
Something like this probably works and probably would want the rockets to throw in a 1st rounder. I think last year the rockets were one of the teams willing to send 4 1st round picks for Mikal and now with FVV/Durant/Sengun mikal would be a perfect fit there. Then you can move Adams to a 3rd team or even Mitch for more assets to potentially loud up for a down the road Giannis type package.

The best thing he could do is play 20 minutes a game this season and gracefully fade away to pursue his (considerable) business interests. Here's hoping he doesn't get seriously injured and he doesn't stay longer than this year.

The Knicks have JUST enough space under the 2nd apron to sign a veteran minimum player, and then sign a 2nd rd pick after 14 days and wont have any further wiggle room below the 2nd apron?
To sign a vet min plus a rookie, we would fall short around 35K.
We have to see how much money we can save delaying the signing of the 14th player for 14 days.
If its not enough we have to sign another rookie or sophomore min such as McCullar.

Ben shot a career high free throw percentage last season tho, even if he barely got to the line

IF he's bought out, sure. But he just opted in for $50M with LA. I think they'd be pretty pissed if he said, "Now please give me my $50M back so I can leave you guys."
