He learned a lot of offensive game plans while with the Warriors as head asst. This is safe pick by the Knicks. Exepreince coach that will command respect form this group the second he walks in similar to Thibs in that way but its a new voice that they needed.
Cavs- couple 60 win seasons and a finals appearance with Cavs teams that we can all agree were lacking talent outside of Lebron
Lakers- Great first year and then imo was unfairly fired in year 2 after 5 games in the first year of Nash/Dwight we know how all that worked out
Kings- most successful years the kings have seen since the early 2000s. #1 rnked offense with fox/sabonis as his best palyers and had the team playing a league average defense (a team employing derozan, fox and sabonis).
The one thing I worry about and its the reason he got fired was his interaction with the Media and how he "threw" his teams under the bus. he will get eaten alive in new york if he does that. Thibs knew how to handle them.
Actually since the mid 2000s.
Kings had multiple 50 /60 win seasons during the 2000s. Like 6 of them.
I'd say '04-'05 still qualifies as early 2000's (that was the last time they won 50 games) and they didn't reach the playoffs from '06 until '23.
Hhhm, ok. I guess it could be called early 2000s. lol.
Its really in the middle.
But, ya. I know about their drought. After their successful winning seasons/playoff streak from 1998-2006 (8 straight seasons). They went into a long funk from 2007-2022. Finally making it back in 2022/2023 season.
