I think it’s probably more so that Giannis knows Dame is old and cooked.

Profound23 wrote:I don't think it's that deep. I think they like each other. Just think Giannis realized last year that his game doesn't mesh well with Dame. There was an article when Dame was out, Bucks were on a win streak, and Giannis was asked what the difference was. Giannis said basically when Dame is in the game Giannis has to take a step back and that sometimes hurts the team.

They're very different people. Very different personalities. And that's just off the court. It all goes back last year to Dame having to pick his dream starting 5 to play with of current players and him leaving off Giannis and instead choosing Bam. Just a weird dynamic between them but you're right maybe I'm lookin too much into it

I think you bring Rollins back but likely still need another guy.

A quick list of guys who might be gettable near the min:

Cole Anthony
Dante Exum
CP3
Patty Mills
Spencer Dinwiddie

Anthony or Exum would both be homeruns.

De’Anthony Melton would be my first choice of the remaining free agent PGs. He’s younger (only 26), a good on ball defender and a decent facilitator/shooter. Also he’s coming off a lost season and should be available for the vet min.

FYI Cole Anthony would be my second choice but only if he’s bought out by Memphis.

Seems relevant to all this constant, blind speculation about what amount of "input" Giannis has on all these moves. I'll take the words of a former teammate over any other unsubstantiated rumors/hearsay. Henson says Giannis straight up never wanted to weigh in on roster moves ("that's your guys' job") except for one (the infamous Jimmy rumor). And even then it sounds like it was clearly more about loyalty to Khris than any sort of malice towards Butler. That seems to track with everything we know about him, but of course, let's not let that get in the way of a good story/slander against guys we don't like (he hand-picked Griffin, he hates/doesn't get along with player X,Y,Z, etc.).

Thanks. Didn't see anything on Twitter or FB.

They have one up for Rollins too, so idk if it's anything definitive, unless they bring Rollins back.

I don't know that it's definitive, but they posted the Rollins one shortly before extending the qualifying offer to him. Posted the Porter and Trent ones shortly before re-signing them.

If we end up trading Giannis, I don't see how those two are hurting us long term. Maybe I'm naive but I feel Turner on that contract is positive value and could be flipped.

For dame, it helps us avoid the tax this year and who really cares if we have a $25m a hold when we are rebuilding years 3-5. Thats before we would be competitive again and don't really have any bad contracts. Good chance if we trade Giannis that we would need salary those years to hit the salary floor.

If anything it hurts us if keep Giannis.

Giannis usually stays out of it, but this one time they wanted to upsell me on guac, and Giannis butt in and said “we’re not doin that.”

What you conveniently ignored, was this pertained to young Giannis, when he wasn't being consulted at the beginning, then could have a more flippant attitude prior to his prime years (23 & earlier) when there was less urgency.

Henson was last a Buck in 2018. So this was well before the Jrue, Dame, Griffin, etc.; moves.

Isn't it known that Giannis also turned down the idea of a Khris for Kyrie swap?

Regardless, the Bucks should 100% be consulting their superstar on personnel decisions

If anything, it allowed us to get another asset in Turner. What does Dame coming off injury next year get you? Nothing special because he is going to try to dictate where he wants to go. We would be left with Duncan Robinson contracts.

Henson literally says "they were coming to him and asking his opinion on players/trade candidates" while he was there.

Exactly. Henson is just trying to keep his name out there. He doesn’t know anything about the current hierarchy of the Bucks

Yup. Its probably one of the main reasons he's still here. I mean, he is the franchise.

Nah that was Alex Lasry.

Eastside shows up here every now and then but he generally focuses on twitter.

Was that before or after the "Thon is a pedophile" and "Jabari has autism" threads though?
