Something really STRANGE I heard this morning from Ian Begley... he mentioned almost in passing that Lebron MIGHT GET BOUGHT OUT. He didn't expound at all

That's the narrative that makes the most sense.

He already won with:
Miami Heat (2012, 2013), the Cleveland Cavaliers (2016), and the Los Angeles Lakers (2020)

No, no NBA player has ever won a championship with four different teams. While several players have won championships with three different teams, such as Robert Horry, John Salley, LeBron James, and Danny Green, the feat of winning with four different teams remains unaccomplished in the NBA

If he came here to win a championship (for his own legacy), the win would be soiled IMO.

It would be like the year Durant couldn't beat Golden State, so he joined them! :banghead:

Well sign me up for the soiled championship  I hope he would stay so we could repeat a stained championship next year

How about bring Grimes back?

I still think he'd be the best 2 guard option next to Brunson. Can shoot, play defense, and put it on the floor; still just 25

as much as Hart is here for vibes, Grimes would be more useful IMO, I'd S&T if possible

Can teams over the 1st apron bring someone in on a S&T?

I wouldn't mind signing Simmons for a vet min. He's big, hes a playmaker off the bench, and decent on defense still. Theres even a small (probably very small) chance he becomes a starter quality player again and we can start him next to KAT if/when Mitch goes down.

He's honestly like a bigger, maybe better Hart.

you may be right. that'd be kinda a ridiculous rule. if you're sending out = or more salary in the deal it shouldn't matter

we're only 4M above 1st apron (until Clarkson and Yabusele become official), maybe Aller can work some magic

Would we really want to sell our souls to the devil and get diminished to this, just for a chance to (MAYBE) say we won a championship???

Simmons was really good for the clips last year and played almost a defacto point center for their bench unit (they played small ball essentially 5 out other than simmons).

I would welcome him as depth especially if hart is moved.

I don’t think we’ll sign Simmons, he’ll prob either stay in LAC or go to the LAL. But if we had a shot at him for the minimum, I’d 100% do that.

Simmons as the primary ball handler with 4 shooters around him? Sign me up all day. He looked good last season… elite court vision n passing, great decision maker in transition, guards well 1-5, rebounds, etc… would be kinda dumb to pass on him.

Would it be a nice story to win it all with Jalen as the center piece, sure, but i don’t care if it’s LeBron or wizards Jordan , I want to see this team win a championship before I leave this earth man

bench piece I'd like is Caleb Houstan. 22 y/o, 6-8, can shoot the 3 and play defense + won't require a lot of minutes/can prob be had for min

Haha, yeah I want to see that too, before I turn into plant food. But, if we have no standards, we might as well trade away Brunson, KAT and the entire team, offer the Lakers 40 draft picks, bring in Lebron to play 1 vs 5 against the league, and hope to get handed a trophy.

Fun, eh?

Oh I’m not talking about trading for Bron, this was directed at the conversation of folks saying they wouldn’t take Bron for the minimum (a crazy hypothetical scenario in itself)

Just imagine for a second that we have a 23 year old, 6'10" two way wing that can play make.

Now, imagine a team comes to you and offers you Tobias Harris + Duren for that player.

That is what you're talking about with Franz, the same can be applied to Trey and Bam. It's not shot term memories, it's understanding value proposition. We don't have 5 picks to throw into the trades this time, nobody is giving up Franz, Trey or Bam for Mikal. You can add in Mitch, they aren't doing it, because you wouldn't if we had the player that you're proposing the trade for.

Lol absolutely insane to compare Mikal to Tobias Harris...

You're also overrating Franz a ton here while you go on a crusade about Hart being a non shooter... Meanwhile Franz legit can't shoot

Again I don't even want to trade for these guys. Just saying they are guys in the salary range that I could see the Knicks having interest in.

Nobody is overrating Franz, you floated his name out there because he's a better player and you want him on the team. They are not trading him for Mikal + Mitch, there's a less than zero chance they'd even consider doing it. He averaged 26ppg in the playoffs, he's 6'10" and plays both sides of the ball, if he could shoot he'd be a superstar  You guys always want to come up with trades in which we get the young player that's better than the guy we're giving up, then turn around and say the young player isn't that good.

This is Trey Murphy stuff all over again, they weren't going to trade him to us last year, his name should be nowhere near us today. Just like Franz name should not be mentioned in this thread, it's not going to happen. The Knicks can be interested in him, I am interested in Meg the Stallion, neither of us are getting the thing we have interest in.
