Can we at least KAT at the 5 with a lineup that makes sense first though? I think there’s a lot of potential there.
But from what Begley said, it seems like Mitch will be the starting 5.
Either he doesn’t know it or he heard from a real source that the FO wants coaches who want this. Begley is not a guy to make things up.
How does Begley know that? Brown was just hired and we don’t know what’s up with Borrego yet. No way the starting lineup is already decided.

OG and Brunson injuries have nothing to do with teams putting their 5 on Hart and shutting down the paint.
He is also acting like the Knicks didn’t have to come back from multiple 20 point deficits in that Boston series and as if the Knicks didn’t look inconsistent on both ends of the floor every other game.

What difference does that make? They were the defending nba champions and we won the series. Did you need us to dominate them by 20-30 pts every game for it to have counted for anything. The Thunder were inconsistent against Indiana and Denver and still won the championship sometimes playoff series go back and forth

This is actually great. You’re right, it’s not about SAS. Starts with Windy. When SAS talks, he’s not doing his shtick at all. Just straight analysis. He’s at his very best here- rare as that is!
This was a good find. The information provided, combined with analysis from bball talking heads instead of irrational fans on Twitter has given me a different perspective. As Stephen A said, Mike Brown is just the most qualified available. Once his assistants are named, we should have a lot more to celebrate.

Well that’s something we should look into changing and it got exposed more in the playoffs but trying to hyperfocus on the teams’ regular season performance after January should have a gigantic asterisk on it

Yea it’s just way too early to have the starters locked up… they shouldn’t even be anyway honestly.. they should be open to trying different lineups to see what works best. I do remember tho that the rating with Deuce in for Hart was really high but it also wasn’t used much at all.
Not only that, but if Mitch n the FO don’t agree on an extension, he might be gone. It’s just too soon for Ian to be talking about that right now.

The billionaire owner made his choice of who he wanted for the job and Mike Brown will be the coach regardless of who likes it or not. Who cares what the GB thinks?

Well according to you it’s all because of towns yet he was a +19 in the playoffs highest among starters second in the team only to McBride while OG was -36 and the likes of Mikilikina was -69 so you tell me where the problem was in the lineup big dawg

So basically our defense didn't change much at all...but our offense went from elite to middle of the pack.
Why do you think that was the case?
because teams take a little while to figure you out. defense is the bigger problem with this team but everyone here still doesn't get it. it's amazing.
Mike brown and still playing KAT at the 5 is an absolute disaster waiting to happen.
"Absolute disaster" but had the 5th best record in the league with KAT at C.

KAT at C is fine depending on matchups....this "absolute disaster" stuff is a bogus agenda that needs to die...
Mike Brown wasn't my preferred coaching choice either, but if he runs KAT at center based on matchups, the team will not implode and miss the playoffs.

It wasn’t back and forth. The only decisive victory the Knicks had all playoffs was Game 6 when the Celtics were already hurt and beaten down. Most victories the Knicks made miraculous comebacks and that isn’t sustainable. Not sure whats the attachment for Thibs other than continuity and familiarity but we needed a coach that could tell certain lineups aren’t working and make adjustments. Is that Brown? Maybe maybe not but for sure that wasn’t Thibs and that wasn’t going to change.

Both Deuce and Mitch deserve more utilization. Sham, I don't understand your aversion to Deuce other than maybe to prop up Mitch. All of our best lineups have him and every winner in the league has a guy like him. Caruso the most recent. Winners need a 3-D guard.
Also, Mikal's struggles were to me a bigger factor in moving on from Thibs than KAT. There's no way he and OG should be negatives at any point.

Windy “Thibs didn’t slow assistants to get involved on sidelines”
Brown gets assistants and players involved. Held a players only coaching thingy.

okc doesn't play centers who can't play defense. what are we talking about ?
kat can not play the 5. trade mitch and get some other defensive center. i don't care. he can not play the 5. the timberwolves literally chose a guy who could do nothing but play defense over him for a reason. this should be obvious by now.

I think game 4 was also pretty decisive we were up like 10 and running away with a few minutes left when Tatum tore the Achilles. I don’t know why we have to minimize the team’s biggest playoff win since the turn of the century all to justify this coaching change. Yall are sitting here acting like the team was terrible when we were a fingernail away from the chip. Better hope we win 60 and go to the finals next year

I don't disagree with this. Hell, I have KAT in BAF and specifically did not play him at the 5. What I don't get is your objection that Deuce in the starting lineup doesn't help things because he objectively does, including lineups with KAT at the 5.
